Cardinal O'Malley's silence is part of a bigger pattern of "false transparency," the groups say. In August 2011, the cardinal released a list of accused priests, but did not release one "new" accused priest name; he conceded to omitting the names of more than 90 archdiocesan priests, simply because their names were not yet public; and he refused to include the names of more than 70 accused religious order priests who had worked in archdiocesan parishes and schools. I didn't have to take the SAT. At that time they checked your pulse at the door and let you in.

I do however seem to remember reading somewhere that elitist lawyers really struggle when it comes to humor and satire. So I forgive you.

Why don't you give it up? These groups are trying to keep an old story about events decades ago in the news through incendiary tactics intended to rile up the gullible and the anti-Catholic bigots.

This priest has one accusation against him pertaining to an alleged event 30 years, and this allegation has only recently been made. Pardon me if I am skeptical and believe that it is at least as likely that the so-called victim is looking for easy money.

If I knew this priest, and was convinced he was innocent, I would donate to his defense fund.
