Can you pass a basic Civics 101 quiz?
Try this one:
http://www.isi.org/quiz.aspx?q=FE5C3B47 ... 2BB31E2692" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The exam has a few difficult questions and many softballs. It is not as difficult as one might expect from the average score of 49%.
One hint: Don't rush. Read the whole question and all the answers before submitting your own answer.
My score 31/33. Dumb mistakes.

Thank you, Cap.
Very distrubing... not YOU, but the fact that so many respondents, especially elected officials, failed so miserably. There are only a handful of really difficult questions.

Yeah, I missed some dumb ones, too. Shit about the Puritans and such. Nailed the Socrates/Aquinas one, though!

The Socrates question was a good one! The ones I missed (31/33) were because I did not slow down and take the time to read and understand the question and all the options. Even so, I could have missed more but "guessed" right by eliminating the obviously wrong choices.

...Only 32% can properly define the free enterprise system, and only 41% can identify business profit as “revenue minus expenses.”
...Officeholders and non-officeholders find it equally difficult to identify the three branches of government. Only 49% of each group can name the legislative, executive, and judicial.

You answered 30 out of 33 correctly — 90.91 %
I would have just responded to the poll but 3 was not an option.

Oops. Sorry. Too late. If I go back and change it now, all the previous responses will be wiped out.

Based on their contributions in hundreds of political threads in which we have all participated, I suspect most everyone provided an honest answer.
Nothing below a "C!" I am impressed! Why not everyone on this forum run for office?
