A Motion Has Been Filed to Impeach the President

Rep. Walter B. Jones (R-NC3) has filed a resolution initiating impeachment proceedings against President Obama over allegedly unConstitutional use of military force. This happened on 07 MAR 2012.

While I wouldn't mind seeing him impeached, I'm not sure this is the grounds to do it. The administration DOES have the grounds of the War Powers Act. There are complaints that the Administration (i.e. SECDEF) isn't even bothering to reference that, so as to allow an automatic response to a UN request. I don't buy THAT side, either.

Conclusion: Bad move at this time, IMO. Get something a bit firmer before doing this. It's also quite a bit late anyway, as there is the distinct possibiliy that the office will turn over in JAN 2013.

Is this turning into a popular move for the Republicans? Why do I feel like that this is going to start to become a regular occurance from BOTH parties now...

Bottom line: Conks are crazy...and they hate being upstaged by an educated black man.

Impeachment of the President is assured with his re-election and the continued Republican control of the House, I have predicted this for Obama's entire first term.

The Republicans are far more right than they were the last time they took the bull by the horns and set about removing a sitting President because they just knew they were more right than the will of the electorate.

Look for absolutely nothing to get done in the next two years of the next congress, other than of course, impeaching the President.

Yeah, b/c Democrats are perfect. Polarizing environement and closed mindness, much of which is on display on CS, is a reason why our Congress can't work together. Everyone is blaming the other guy. Everyone is a hypocrite. :twocents: :coffee: :ohno:

Conks sky over Progressives in destruction. It's all we can do to keep up and keep them in their place, Mark. We are doing a great service here, so quit your mewling.

A HUGE majority of the negativity in the culture comes from Conks.

Only a Dem would think that. Viv had it right, both parties are jokes at this moment. Heck, it's pretty much standard practice now for each party to toy with impeachment of the other party's President. I would expect this will happen everytime now since it happened to Clinton, they tried to do it to Bush, and now they're trying to do it to Obama. Neither party is acting like adults and that's why we have this massive swing from one election to the next to whichever party isn't in power. It would be great if one party would step up and not stoop to their worst instincts - I just don't see it happening.

No, only a rational observer of the NegaConk phenomenon would think that. They drag the country down. We can sit here and post ad infinitum all the negative cultural embarrassments for Conk in the last several years. Yeah, you'll get some Progressive missteps, but NOTHING like the Conk NegaTrain.

But, you and I agree that nothing will happen to make it better, except when Progressives rule everything.

"Progressives" did rule everything or did you miss 2009 when the White House, the House of Reps, and the supermajority in the Senate were all in one party's control? That worked out so well that people actually voted the GOP back into power in the legislature just two short years after the GOP had, to that date, one of the worst performances ever in that position. Obama got led around by the nose that year as he underestimated the sway of the entrenched leaders in his own party and his party paid the price in the elections. It's clear that both parties, when left to their own devices, will do their best to f it up royally. Arguing over the minute difference as to how much they f it up is really missing the point.

Mewling? I'm not sure what it means, but it sounds Anti-Semetic.

I'm just saying that both parties send out hate. Both parties are guilty, EQUALLY. I'm glad that so many people have been not seeking re-election. I really look forward to a renaissance in the American Political Machine. :twocents:

I think being that the Republican Party is the Party of Lincoln and the Democratic Party is that of the nasty, dirty, evil Slave Owners says a great deal as to how things have changed. :coffee:

Obstruction? The conks couldn't obstruct anything, that's what the "supermajority" part of supermajority meant. For a year, conks were entirely removed from any government activity. And America liked it so much that they put a Republican in the seat Ted Kennedy was in for decades and then more Dems lost in the next election than any party had lost ever. Sure they could've done more, but apparently America was already upset with what they did do all on their own.
