More jizz for the Conk crying towel!!

By msnbc.com staff and wire reports
Private businesses stepped up hiring more than expected in February, according to a widely-watched survey that is often seen as a herald for the crucial monthly employment data due on Friday.

Payrolls processor ADP said Wednesday that private-sector employment increased by 216,000 on a seasonally-adjusted basis. Economists had been expecting a rise of 208,000, according to Reuters.
"This does suggest we are moving it the right direction. It supports the expectations of another 200,000-plus in Friday's payroll report. The jobs numbers are looking healthier," said Beth Ann Bovino, senior U.S. economist at Standard & Poor's.

January's payrolls figures were revised up to an increase of 173,000 from 170,000. The report is jointly developed with Macroeconomic Advisers LLC.

The job market has been showing signs of improvement in recent months, although the unemployment rate remains high at more than 8 percent.
Economists polled by Reuters are expecting Friday's report to show a gain of 210,000 in overall nonfarm payrolls, with the addition of 225,000 jobs in the private sector.
Economists often refer to the ADP report to fine-tune their expectations for the payrolls numbers, though it is not always accurate in predicting the outcome.

There might be some localized or regional uptick SOMEWHERE. But overall? That's pure :bs: .

Nope, there is more jobs available around here than they can fill. Recruiters in Billings are screening/training/and placing 60 people a month for high paying jobs in the Bakken oil fields in many different capacities, not enough bodies to go around.

There are jobs in the local papers for positions in schools, county government, city government and private companies every day.

This is all going on here despite all the political dogma that claims otherwise, including putting the skids on the badly managed Freestone Pipeline project.

If you can't find a job, get off your butt and go out looking, still can't find a job then get re-trained, Obama will help you if you just ask.

;)

Yeah, a few local regions are massively affecting a national report. Get with it man!

I think you've killed your brain with all those Flames games you attend.

You are talking about just one region. BTW, it is Keystone, not Freestone. So much for your credibility.

Um, I HAVE been looking. Most of the time, they don't even bother to contact me back unless I'm dealing with a government agency.

Ever notice how people WITH jobs always seem to ASSUME that those without jobs are slackers? That may be true in SOME cases, but it's by no means a panacea.

To be brutally blunt, it's not the employers, it's you. If you act the same way in real life like you act here, I'm not surprised that no one bothers to contact you back. :twocents:

That falls on your interviewing skills. What type of jobs are you applying for?

You using words like "panacea" in a job interview? Shit, no wonder you can't find work. :ohno:

Someone like you would make a great catholic priest...weird, creepy and of indeterminate sex. Gig pays well too. That vow of poverty shit only applies to nuns. The fucking priests in my town eat at the best restaurants and drive sweet gas guzzling american cars.

It's true the economy is slowing steering itself around towards the right direction. Job seekers in some cases are going to have to adjust however as some jobs aren't coming back so career directions may need to be changed and training or schooling may be an aid to that.

I'm looking for sales people and I get a ton of people who are either grossly over-qualified that won't take the pay level the job starts at or have zero proven skills for the job as is. The trick for recruiters is trying to find the round peg to stick in the round hole...

Question: Do you provide/off paid training for zero proven skills people? Lots of companies whine about not being able to find "skilled" workers, but refuse to pay for training and, instead, get on corporate welfare and try to have the govt pay for it.

Unemployment up to 9.1%

:ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

http://www.gallup.com/poll/153161/Unemp ... ruary.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The 0.5-percentage-point increase in February compared with January is the largest such month-to-month change Gallup has recorded in its not-seasonally adjusted measure since December 2010, when the rate rose 0.8 points to 9.6% from 8.8% in November. A year ago, Gallup recorded a February increase of 0.4 percentage points, to 10.3% from 9.9% in January 2011.

In addition to the 9.1% of U.S. workers who are unemployed, 10.0% are working part time but want full-time work. This percentage is similar to the 10.1% in January, but is higher than the 9.6% of February 2011.

Well, on the bright side, hopefully that means all those people who stopped looking for work altogether are now starting to try again. The rate going down before was always artificial in that it didn't count those who stopped looking and gave up (and not all of them were older workers leaving the workforce for retirement).

Most people don't see these polls they only know what they see in their own lives
People or relatives they know that are struggling

I know in my drive to work I see more and more for sale and for lease signs every month

the Dems destroyed the housing market and until that starts to come back I don't see any recovery on the horizon

Hopefully having a new president that isn't anti business will help next year

You know if more unemployed folks would actually take the time to read their papers, look for jobs, and network instead of sitting on their asses complaining, I guarantee you your drive to work would be more pleasant. I take a paper every day, find what is out there and relate it to unemployed folks the best I can. You can almost hear a pin drop to boot. Jobs ARE out there. The economy IS improving.

Previous networking efforts is what got me all of my interviews while unemployed.
