Another shocking glimpse into the orchestrated cover up of child abuse in the catholic church. Un fucking believable.

The discovery of Cardinal Anthony J. Bevilacqua's 1994 order to shred a memo about 35 Archdiocese of Philadelphia priests suspected of molesting children is no reason to dismiss the case against one of his key aides, a judge ruled Monday.

No one has ever defended Cardinal Bevilacqua and the fact that he ordered this memo to be shredded was known years ago. Nothing new here. Bevilacqua's handling of reports within the Philly diocese was just as bad as the manner in which Cardinal Law handled the issue in Boston. Both Boston and Phildelphia are among the dioceses with a crisis of morally indefensible leadership.
That being said, the case against Lynn is weak and the charges will not stick. How many times do I have to be right before you listen? I've called four cases here that have subsequently been tossed.

Actually I agree with D1B on this one. The Archdioceses of both Philadelphia & Wilmington have been embarassingly horrendous regarding the abuses by priests, the subsequent cover-ups and the lack of sympathy towards the victims.
It'd be nice to see retribution other than long overdue financial settlements going to the victims.
Bevilaqua is probably already serving his sentence, as he passed away last month, and he ain't doing it in heaven....

Well you can add Milwaukee, L.A., Wilmington, and more to come.
They're chipping away at the defenses of the church and these cases will continue. That a case is dismissed does not necessarily mean it has no merit. Your church is spending millions on high priced attorneys whose sole purpose is not to discover truth, but to protect church assets. The church cowardly hides behind statute of limitation laws, sovereignty laws and any other parlor trick to escape accountability and get cases dismissed.
Your church also enjoys preferential treatment by the state. If this were a business or government agency, it would have been raided by the FBI and all documents and hard drives confiscated. Unfortunately each day gives you time to shred more evidence and hide more crimes.
Your church is embroiled in a world wide child abuse scandal that is not going away any time soon.
You're financing it too.

I want to see all diocesesrelease all documents related to priests' backgrounds. For the safety of children.
They won't do it because they don't care about victims, just assets.

I looked at the news accounts, actually reviewed the documents on the NY Times website that neither you nor the Times reporter even looked at, and called the media accounts distorted. I said that the lawsuit itself was going to be dismissed.
Two years later, I'm proven right.
But rather than acknowledge that I was right, and that I called it two years ago, you then claim I'm "nothing but delusional and creepy cultist."
