Man, it's been rough for Conks of late. Not only do they have to deal with a mentally-challenged pool of ignoramuses running for their party's nomination, they pay for the transgressions and stupidity of their leaders here dearly at the mighty hands of Progressive stalwarts like Cap'n Cat, mainejeff, Skjelly, palm, Wedgie, and Jon, among others.

Not only that, the King of Progressives, Barack Obama, he of erstwhile political and economic and geopolitical successes, is skating to a second term in the White House. And he's BLACK, too.

This ain't the America that Alfie and Hen and BDK and STD1990 and Tman and native and Cluckie envisioned when they thought of their middle ages. That America is GONE, GONE, GONE forever.

Actually I am an embittered, racist, angry old white guy living in conk central that is really pissed off at having this spear chucker in the White House.

My bet would be that both Paul and Gingrich have higher IQs than Obama does. I think that would be a pretty good bet. And I wouldn't be shocked if Romney and Santorum do as well.

But Paul for sure. Medical Doctor with his MD from Duke vs. Lawyer with his law Degree from Harvard in terms of raw intelligence? I'll take the MD from Duke anytime.

Plus there's that probability that Obama got preferential treatment in his academic pursuits due to his race. No, we don't know that. But it's a pretty good bet if one had to bet. Chances are Obama would never have BEEN in the Ivy League if he'd not been a member of an "underrepresented miniority." Again, can't know for an individual. But if you were to randomly pick any member of an "underrpresented minority" in any prestigous university the odds would be overwhelming before the pick that they wouldn't be there ...would never have been admited...if they weren't a member of an "underrepresented minority."

That's because we have reached a stage in our history where the most important thing in winning a Presidential election is charisma and "telegenicity."

I think back and think of Presidential elections we've had in my adult life and my conclusion is that either the more charismatic candidate won each time or it was a situation where neither candidate was charismatic. Let's review:

Carter vs. Ford
Reagan vs. Carter
Reagan vs. Mondale
Bush vs. Dukakis (neither)
Clinton vs. Bush
Clinton vs. Mondale
Bush vs. Gore (neither but if you had to give a "charisma" edge you'd have to give it to Bush because Gore was a fence post)
Bush vs. Kerry (a neither)
Obama vs. McCain

I think it's because you've got about a third of the country in "the middle" who don't have a clue as to what they really want. They are presented as really important and thoughtful but I think they're just idiots. And they swing back and forth based on which candidate looks prettier on television and/or is more articulate.

Bottom line now is Obama comes off a lot better on TV than any of the Republican candidates do. Plus he came in when the economy took a dive so that put him in good position. So I'd be shocked if he doesn't win.

It really is not at all about who is best qualified to be President and it hasn't been for a long time.
