It's worked out great for those who didn't lose their jobs and have to raid their savings. Gobama.Wedgebuster wrote:This is what we get thanks to Obama's ruinous policies.
Not Obama's fault.......many years of failed Conk policy. Admitting it is the first step..........ASUG8 wrote:It's worked out great for those who didn't lose their jobs and have to raid their savings. Gobama.Wedgebuster wrote:This is what we get thanks to Obama's ruinous policies.

My novice guess would be that the PIIGS (Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece, and Spain) have the entire EU teetering on such a skinny branch that the complete default of one of them could have huge European impacts, which obviously would have repercussions domestically in the US as well as the rest of the world.Ivytalk wrote:I'd like to hear from some stock market expert on this board to explain why there has been such an overreaction -- for months -- to what the fucking Greeks do.
Personally never played the market. Had a mutual fund in my 20's, cashed out and never went back. There are plenty of investments that are revenue generating 100% of the time. Virtually every person I know who's played the market has lost in the long run.Cap'n Cat wrote:mainejeff wrote:

One of the largest importers of defense hardware in Eastern Europe over the past two decades, as well as a "middle-man" for shady arms deals/money laundering. Their connections run throughout the NATO block.Ivytalk wrote:I'd like to hear from some stock market expert on this board to explain why there has been such an overreaction -- for months -- to what the fucking Greeks do.

But it isn't just about Greece and hasn't been for quite some time. They have become the poster child for broader European debt problems. The issue is just as much about Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Italy and to some extent France.
If you want good, almost daily commentary on Greece and European debt, I recommend that you listen to Bloomberg Radio when you can during the work week. In fact, I recommend Bloomberg Radio for great commentary on all things related to economics and the markets.
