There are plenty of conservative gays out there, MJ. Many of them identify with the Republican Party. Given the recent track record of the guy in the Oval Office, I don't think anyone has a monopoly on putting gay issues first.

Perhaps this gay man (as well as several friends of mine and also my brother) is either not as myopic as you, or their political leanings are just not motivated out of self interest.
