Bridgette Dunlap, a Fordham student originally from San Jose, Calif., organized the November clinic to help female students who said they were having problems getting contraception through the school's health insurance. Dunlap said she had heard from several young women with medical conditions that are treated with birth control pills but who had been denied them at Fordham. "What these stories show is that even under a protective mandate, we still can't get affordable birth control," she said.

Good for Fordham for not promoting fornication and the idolatry which has become the world's messed up view of sex. This little whore should know better. Good job Fordham! Keep fighting the good fight!

Since I know a lot of Fordham graduates, let me note that we tend to be smart, successful and happy people. You find Fordham graduates at the top of every field and industry. Moreover, we have very healthy relationships and very responsible views of sex. The vast majority of Fordham graduates I know main happily married and FAITHFUL to their first spouse, and have happy family lives. We received a great, well-rounded education at Fordham which has brought us success, but more importantly happiness and healthy respect for our relationships. Maybe that's because we weren't as encouraged to be sexually active in college.

The trend holds even in Hollywood. Two of the biggest stars in town are Fordham graduates, Alan Alda and Denzel Washington. Alda has been married to his first wife since 1957. Washington has been married to his first wife for 30 years. Certainly they buck the trend in Hollywood.

My fellow alumni tend to be the same way.

Then again, I did go to the Fordham of the Palouse.

So? I'm proud to say they've been done great things and shaped their values at Fordham.

Joe, I don't dispute that at all. Fordham is a fine school and my guess is that many religious institutions have similar situations.

The issue isn't whether Fordham is making birth control available through it's student health plan (and many, many schools have student health plans). I have no problem with a religious institution not wanting to provide contraception as part of a health plan if to do so would go against its doctrine. It's the responsibility of a prospective student to know that sort of thing about a school they are considering. The issue is whether it and other institutions are making birth control available to students who need it to treat other health problems not to prevent pregnancy.
Emily moved from Los Angeles to New York for law school with more health worries than your average 26-year-old. She had lost one ovary to a tumor, had polyps cut from her uterus, and faced a greater risk of developing cancer in her remaining ovary unless she took birth control pills. When Emily visited the student health services center at Jesuit-run Fordham University, however, she could not get her prescription filled.

Fordham is run by some of the worst psycho pedophiles and sadists. Jesuits have paid out tens of millions of dollars in lawsuits, including the highest amount to date - $116,000,000.

Jesuits are depraved and hid pedophiles on Fordumb's campus.

Really, did you have some awful childhood trauma that causes you to spew so much anti-Catholic hate on this board? I'd like an honest answer to that question.

Neither Fordham nor the New York Province of Jesuits has been embroiled in allegations of pedophile scandals or cover ups, and you are an asshole for stating otherwise.
