Dow at 4-year high, Nasdaq hits 11-year high

U.S. stocks rallied Friday, as investors cheered a much stronger-than-expected jobs report.
The Dow Jones industrial average (INDU) gained 157 points, or 1.2%, the S&P 500 (SPX) added 19 points, or 1.5%, and the Nasdaq composite (COMP) increased 46 points, or 1.6%.

I had Apple in my portfolio well before The Chosen One swept into office. And Google. And McDonald's. Obummer had nothing to do with it. Well managed companies always do well. Carry on.

Especially when the broader economy and lending environment is so bad that smaller competition is crushed due to under capitalization and over regulation... fewer dogs eating at the same trough makes fatter dogs.

Good point. Consolidation of power is being accomplished by both parties but a lack of financial regulation is partly to blame as well.

It isn't a lack of regulation as much as it is a failure to enforce anti-trust laws that have been on the books for quite a long time.

I'm not sure anyone values them a great deal. Their main value is that they aren't Obama.
