Much to the chagrin of the old Bush lovers club, and the tea baggers, and their hate has come spewing forth again.

Great news for our nation, sorry it pisses that 30 percentile off so badly but maybe it is finally time for them to get on board the winning team or eat a bullet once and for all.

It was bound to turn around. These things are cyclical and Bush was simply a victim of history.

That was 2005. In 2009, both houses of Congress and the Presidency were controlled by the Democratic Party.

I know, but the economy wasn't destroyed in a few months.

Right, but the trillion dollar single-budget deficits began in 2009 and have continued consecutively.

Conservatives have proven to be big spenders too (I don't consider most Congressional conservatives to be true fiscal conservatives) but compared to what has happened with the Democrats at the wheel in both houses as well as the White House, I'd say they technically can still refer to themselves as conservatives. By a large margin.

And as I posted in the other deficit thread if you add up all the new spending costs and cuts to revenue like the wars, TARP, Medicare Part D, Bush/Obama tax cuts etc, at this point Bush is responsible for about $5 trillion, and Obama for about $1.5 trillion.

Both sides spend.

It would have been interesting to see if the conks were in control in 2009 whether they would have had the stones to enact austerity measures during a deep recession. How would that have affected the jobless rate and the economy?
