Planned Parenthood

There are few "charitable" organizations which operate with as small a percentage of private individual contributions, to overall expenses, than Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood's supporters contribute only about 21% of its total operating budget. The biggest donor to Planned Parenthood is the US Taxpayer, who funds over 46% of Planned Parenthood's annual budget of $1.2B. Next in line are corporations, which contribute about 22% to Planned Parenthood. (The organized boycott of PP's corporate sponsors is the next shoe to drop on PP).

Planned Parenthood's supporters are not personally generous. They are loud, and they vote in support of donating our money to their favorite "charity." That's their idea of charity: spending someone else's money.

Despite all the ranting and raving on the internet, the Susan G. Komen For The Cure knows that losing the "support" of the Planned Parenthood cultists compares to Germany losing the "support" of Italy during World War II.

The $400K donated to PP in the last 24 hours shows how full of crap you are, JJ.

PP does more for women's health than any other organization in the country.
And no little boys have been raped.

As I said in the other thread, 6,000 gave an average of $66 after a specific appeal was made. Bigh effin' deal.

Planned Parenthood supporters are notorious cheapskates: loud-mouthed tightwads whose idea of charity is to make the taxpayer foot the bill. After a one-day pop, they will go back to being cheapskates, like Joe Biden, who gave $380 in charity in 2006.
I'm sure Komen raked in much more.

Besides, who knows if PP is telling the truth? They are the biggest liars on the American scene today.

That 400K is just national donations - local chapters are being showered with money, as well

I wonder: how much of that $380 went to Joe's home parish? Probably $6.93. ;)

Maybe he gave $1 each to 380 different charities.

Donations to Komen up 100% over the past two days. This is significant because, even though Komen's budget is about 1/3 of PPs, it actually pulls in about $130,000,000 more a year in private donations than PP. It doesn't need handouts from the government to survive.

Don't knock Joe's generosity.

Catholic Churches in America pull in slightly more than $6 billion a year from weekly collections. I think Joe's contribution made the difference in getting the collection over the $6B mark.

So that would be $5,999,999,993.08 without Joe? :?

Can you give back up to this number? Last % I had was that governmental health grants, which are used to provided health care for the poor, similiar to grants many other organizations recieve, was about 33% of the total budget.

PP generates over a third of it's budget from it's customers.

Here's a link to PP's 2010 Annual report, which shows that 46% of its operating budget is funded by government health services grants and reimbursements. 21% from private contributions and bequests. See the chart on pages 6-7:

The difference is in 2010, PP classified Medicare insurance payments as Governmental source, rather than Health care income

By that standard, Fortune 500 companies like Fresenius and DaVita, that get 60-70% of their revenue from Medicare/Medicaid patients, should get off the governmental teet.

So, even if 13% of that 46% is medicare/medicaid, 33% of the budget from other "tax" dollars is still a big number.

PP would do itself a favor if it got out of the abortion business. The fact of the matter is, however, that PP has been lying about how it is spending government money and it is in fact diverting government money to provide abortion services, despite representations to the contrary. It is about to get caught, and Komen knows it.

What info? Financial information? If so, yes, everything I'm getting is in the 2010 Annual Report.

Didn't Obama win big with a bunch of small donations from a bunch of cheapskates that want to spend other people's money?

Haven't I read on this site or another that teh founder of PP Margaret Sanger was a racist and eugenicist whose goal was to eliminate the Negro and other undesirables?
I cold be wrong but it would be humorous if the minority Celebs that are giving endorsements of PP are ignorant of the founders feelings

I think I also read about the millions of Blacks that have been eliminated by this big box store of abortions so Margaret must be happy
