Dear God please make it stop!

Please make it stop! The Iowa caucus can't come soon enough. Getting at least 6 items in the mail everyday. Had 12 yesterday. The phone never stops ringing. Have had 4 already today and we aren't even past the supper hour yet. The ads on TV never stop.

I think it is time for another state to go first so we don't have to put up with this.

So move to a more boring state. Like Indiana. Nothing ever happens there. :coffee: p

Get their phone number. Call them back, lots, asking for money, surveys, grocery lists, recipe instructions, how to change oil, deliver a baby, make a martini, etc... They will stop calling. Trust me.

I'm no cynic... but, any way you can make some $? Campaign staffers shouldn't be the only ones.... yo, buy me off too.

no, they won't.

there's only two ways to get them to stop calling:
1. tell them to take you off their call list (you just have to do it a half dozen or more times - once per candidate)
or, and I know this is shocking:
2. tell them who the f you'll be caucusing for

those are pretty much the only two ways you'll get a campaign to stop. honestly - just tell them something like "I'm supporting Barack Obama" they'll bail on you... I promise... and then they'll turn to the person next to them at the phone bank and go "wtf? why did i get an obama supporter?" they'll mark you as a "6" in the database, and move along. If you give them another GOP name - you'll probably get a persuade script bashing them or touting their guy...

trying THAT might actually get them to hang up and never call back... vote buying is so illegal (and damaging politically) that no campaign - no matter how depraved or foolish - would try it. also, the ends never justify the means... the average voter in Iowa can likely be persuaded for about $18 if you do it right - much cheaper than a bribe

I no longer get calls from those loonies. Must have done something right.

Also works great with telemarketers.

Also - I've never understood how people can get "annoyed" at campaign mail... it's a freaking piece of mail... you have a recycling/garbage bucket right? toss it in there with the carpet cleaning coupons and insurance come-ons and be done with it...

it's always baffled me why political mail is viewed as so different... in fact, generally, political mail is easier to ignore...

All junk mail I get is sent back "return to sender" and a big EAT SHIT on the back.

Easiest way off both parties lists (since generally campaigns buy their lists from the parties - thought not always)... ID as a member of the other party... they'll want nothing to do with you... here's a secret, once we've idented as the other side we never bother to call again... not worth our time.

meh... if i had a nickle... we don't generally even see that shit... ends up at whatever mailhouse we've used - and they don't care... when i'm running cheap i'll have an intern nerf those people from the list so i don't waste 23 cents on them... (that's production and postage... when you know how, the mail is insanely cheap)

If you think I care about the mail you are wrong. Just funny how many pieces we are getting. Got 3 from Rick Perry in one day. Each flyer on a different topic.

Telling them who I am going to the caucus for doesn't work. I've told the Gingrich, Bachmann, and Romney calls that I'm voting for Ron Paul and they keep calling.

You mean you can get a hummer for just 18 bucks in Iowa? :o

Probably less than that. A bottle of beer at the bar is only $2.75. That's almost 6.93 beers you could buy to get her in the mood.

right - you've told them you're voting for a different republican - in this process that makes you a "persuadable voter"

I got my first piece of PAC propoganda in the mail yesterday... a huge card trying to claim Gingrich is a liberal and in Pelosi's back pocket. Fucking hilarious, but a waste of paper. I guess the Florida primary ain't that far off...

In a couple of weeks we will be getting in South Carolina. the good thing is though, after the primary we don't exist. Everyone knows which way the state is going to vote in the election.
