Disturbing is a good word for what is on that video.

I can't imagine putting my son in that position. Humiliating and beating a loved one while telling her that she doesn't belong in the home is whacked beyond belief.

He should never again be involved in a decision regarding anyone's child care.

Technically, I consider spanking an appropriate discipline tool under controlled conditions and the right circumstances. There is a rather wide line, however, that should not be crossed. The spanking should be of limited duration and there should be no "heat" behind it. That is, the spanking should NOT become a beating. There is also an age at which spanking ceases to be an appropriate tool, and this girl was WELL beyond that age. Restriction and removal of privileges are the appropriate tools to discipline a teenager.

Dad should get some SERIOUS help. Parents Anonymous is a good place to start....
