LA Paper Mill gives away 100's K of free fish

Temple-Inland, in response to the growing hunger crisis in America, generously released enough waste chemicals into the Pearl River to kill hundreds of thousands of fish, as well as turtles and mussels, making them easily available to area residents.

Temple-Inland spokesman called it a win-win situation - the cost to Temple-Inland to treat the waste would have cut profits, and this fishing event allowed easy access to the fish that normally hide sneakily below the water, denying the area residents the opportunity to eat them.

Did a little research on this plant.

No disagreement from me on this one, Jon.

This plant is grossly outdated. The mere fact they're directly discharging the "black-liquor" with only a ph adjustment is mind-numbing. There's more sophisticated methods of neutralizing/stripping out the pulp byproducts/sodium hydroxide, that can even provide beneficial use to the plant.

Temple-Inland's BOD's deserve a swift, hard kick in the ass. Unfortunately, this will probably be the last nail in the coffin for this plant...resulting in hundreds of lost jobs. Had T-I dealt with this problem decades ago, it'd be in production for another 40-50 years.

Listen here, Shithead...

...I could give a friggin fuck what you and Senor Socialist have to say. Until you understand the meaning of "integrity" and "duty"...

...I'm more likely to seek advice from a ball of dryer lint.

This LA plant is an anomaly within American industry. Unfortunately, it only takes a few of these mistakes to stoke the airheaded whiners like yourself who'd just as soon shut down all American productivity, sterilize all citizens and surrender our nation's sovereignty to some backward, retrobate, inhumane nation like China.

Dumping untreated shit into our waterways is unacceptable.

But so is shutting down a business because the rainwater that runs off it's parking lot is deemed as "untreated wastewater".

One's a no-brainer...the other's nonsense.

:ohno:

Why were they dumping the black liquor? Most mills burn it and have received credits for doing so in the past.

When flying, I often see these idiotic libtard ads to purchase "carbon offsets" to buy credits to counteract the affect that my travel has on the environment.

My question to you is simple. How many "buffet offsets" (in the form of Meals on Wheels deliveries) do you purchase when your fat, liberal ass rolls into an 'all you can eat' establishment and consumes an amount of food that would feed a village in the Congo for a month?

Furthermore, we are fortunate on the east coast during Hurricane season. In no great surprise, such a storm as Irene does wonders in reducing our indigent population to more managable levels. It's almost a perfect ecosystem. A useless bum that contributes nothing gets naturally selected to become extinct, washes out to sea, and feeds the crabs and rockfish that ultimately support the food chain in next year's seafood harvest. Other than the pound of bacon strips you deposit daily in your underwear (if you can't reach it to wash it, it accumulates), what benefit do you and your bum buddies provide to a sustainable ecosystem in the wilds of whatever god-forsaken area in which you live?

I hold a special place for crack babies. I save them for deep sea fishing, as their constant and random gyrations provide an attractive bait for the sailfish I desire when trolling offshore. It's almost a perfect cycle of life, where the useless and unproductive ultimately provide for the greater good of society.

You got beat up alot when you were a kid, right?

First you must have me confused with someone else. I'm in pretty good shape, and unlike you, I don't come from poor white trash and had proper nutrition when I was a child, hence my size. I can run a 5K under 30 minutes with ease and I can still bench 3 of you. Someday when your ricketts and polio clear up, you can be like me.

If I ever patronized a buffet restaurant, my consumption and carbon equivalent would pale in comparison to what you spend each month (when your unemployment check arrives) on comic books, gun magazines, pewter dungeons and dragons statues, Laffy Taffy and hardcore pornography.

Yep, it's nice to know he has the capacity to listen and change. We still have some work to do with Z and Laffy Taffy, but I feel we're making progress on that front as well.

Peace out homies!

Nothing really, as long as they're not a permanent substitute for balanced meals and intimate relations, like they are for JayBilasEatsLaffyTaffy. :coffee:

Well, I guess my "Street Persona" would then be "J-Belt" under the new name you so graciously proposed. Not shabby.

By the way, tell lil' sister D1B to trim those hedges. I'll be by later.
