They really do need to start pulling some weight if not their own. Why do the people that do the least get a free ride on societies back?

This is really sickening and needs to be dealt with first and foremost over the debt or jobs.

Agree. Where is the outcry of "fairness"? The same people who decry the superrich's lack of paying proper amount of taxes on their fortunes are amazingly quiet on the subject of those persons who pay NOTHING in income taxes yet use the majority of the social services....
ALPHAGRIZ1 wrote:This is really sickening and needs to be dealt with first and foremost over the debt or jobs.
Disagree that it should be dealt with before debt or jobs. But any tax reform policy should begin and end with mandating ALL citizen's paying a certain percentage of whatever they earn for the privilege to live in this country...

Agreed. The middle class is the one that deserves coddling.

How about we don't coddle anyone when it comes to taxes?

Pay your share.

And when I say share I mean % share. Not $$$$ figures.

And it shouldn't be tied to what you get in return. Poor people need more help than the rich. Get over it.

I was typing when you posted.

You'd still have to decide what goes into what you "Make" a year though.

Salary?
Dividends?
Capital Gains?

Flat tax on everything. Same rate.

EXACTLY!

All men are created equal they should be taxed equally.......the same %.

Oh and spare me the obvious retorts about how a guy making $15k a year pays a higher % of his income than a guy making $250k. Make more money if you dont like it.

The guy who drives his late model SUV to the store and uses food stamps to pay for his smokes and Schlitz and the guy who gets a tax break for his private jet deserve all the breaks under the current rules as they are clearly the smartest at manipulating the system.

Z would have NO PROBLEM giving up 15%

Might be a tad more painful for Skelly here.

But hey, what the hell skelly, if you want that 15% loss to not kill you, you need to be as fat as Z.

A-fokking-men.

The problem with our society is not that some people have risen above others in terms of earnings. Its that the underclass is pampered, shows no obligation to society, is undermotivated, and has been led to believe that they are victims of this great economy.

Screw them. If you quit feeding and sheltering the fucking homeless, there eventually won't be anymore. If you quit providing a decent lifestyle for those that contribute nothing, they'll quit breeding and actually get off of their lazy asses, and may actually compete for the jobs that are currently held by Taco, Nacho, and Burrito - helping to solve our immigration issues.

The answer is simple, tough love. It is a relative blessing to be "poor" in America, considering the lifestyle that our tax dollars enable. If only someone had the balls to really solve this problem vice treating these useless fuckers like royalty. I dream of the day.

^^^^ Start now by jerking the welfare from the Indian tribes, and nationalize their lands back to the people of The United States of America. Stupid fuckers get what they deserve for choosing to ride horses around buck naked and using sticks and stones as tools.

You should move to Somalia. I think you'd really dig it there. :coffee:

And how many "war zones" have you experienced in your lifetime?

Amazing how creative and independent most civilized folks can be when they know they can no longer rob the money from other's pockets to support their lifestyles.

Morally, I can and might feel compelled to help those in need. However, when the government compels it citizens to financially support generational dependence, they are overstepping their mandate from the people.

0.

And I pretty much agree with your last sentence.

Yes. They are and should be getting that help from the rich. You want to live in a society like ours then you are going to have to help those less fortunate than you. That doesn't mean a blank check though.

There's the key to the whole friggin mess right there, what the uber-conks want at all costs is that porch monkey out of the White House, period.

How much of this tea bagger howling would be going on if all were still equal and we had some repub retard in the Oval Office instead??

Rich people have been helping poor people in this country since it began...but as the government took over making the decisions on who, and how, and how much help...the rich have been taxed more and more and stopped helping out of their own pockets...

In fact, there was a study...I wish I could find it...that showed as more government hand-out programs were developed, even churches slowed down their assistance "because the government is doing it"...

My wife and I donate time and treasure...and would donate more if we were not taxed as much...imagine what rich people might do... :coffee:
