Indiana state Rep. Phillip Hinkle (R) is embroiled in controversy after The Indianapolis Star discovered emails appearing to solicit the paid company of a young man, sent from Hinkle's publicly listed email address.
In response to a M4M forum Craigslist post, Hinkle emailed the man, named Kameryn Gibson, and offered him $80 cash, with a tip of $50 or $60 "for a really good time" in the hours he proposed spending together at a local Marriott.
Gibson, whose ad lists him as 20 years old but is actually 18, said he met Hinkle at the hotel, and tried to leave when Hinkle said he was a state politician.
The Star writes:
He said the lawmaker at first told him he could not leave, grabbed him in the rear, exposed himself to the young man and then later gave him an iPad, BlackBerry cellphone and $100 cash to keep quiet.
The BlackBerry contained all of the emails between the young man and Hinkle. In one, Hinkle gives a physical description: "I am an in shape married professional, 5'8", fit 170 lbs, and love getting and staying naked."
No police report has been filed, but a spokesman for Hinkle said that "a shakedown" had taken place, and did not deny that the emails had been sent by Hinkle.
Peter Nugent, Hinkle's lawyer, asked "that everyone respect the privacy of the family at this time" while the matter is being investigated.
According to Project Vote Smart, Hinkle is against same-sex marriage, and carries the endorsement of the National Rifle Association. Hinkle, 64, has been in state legislature since 2000 and co-authored a bill to create a license plate inscribed with "In God We Trust."
“Indiana has no openly gay state legislators and provides no legal rights for LGBT people. Hinkle [and others] recently voted to pass a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage and civil unions," political blogger Bil Browning pointed out.
The emails between Gibson and Hinkle contain no direct mention of sex acts, and Gibson said that they didn't have sex. In Indiana, prostitution is defined as an agreement between people to have sex for money.
Megan Gibson, Kameryn's sister, came to pick him up from the hotel after Hinkle thrust the bribes upon Gibson. She said that she spoke to Hinkle's wife on the BlackBerry, and told her her husband was gay. Hinkle's wife offered her $10,000 to keep quiet.
Later, Hinkle himself called the phone, and Megan Gibson told him that she'd spoken to his wife and said he was gay.
"You've ruined me," the lawmaker said.

According to the New York Post Adhami, 44, said being gay was a 'painful trial' which comes as a result of past trauma.
He said: 'An enormously overwhelming percentage of people struggle with homosexual feeling because of some form of violent emotional or sexual abuse at some point in their life. A small, tiny percentage of people are born with a natural inclination that they cannot explain. You find this in the animal kingdom at some level as well.'
Adhami was named Imam and senior adviser of the proposed mosque by Park51, the organisation behind it.

In other news, water is wet.
Where there's smoke.......
I mean, really, when does this stop being news? It's sort of assumed if you are a huge homophobe, you have something to hide, right?

My new roommate has such a big issue with homosexuality that it's honestly hilarious. He brings up the topic by himself and then starts ragging on "fags" out of nowhere. He doesn't know my views nor that my best friend is gay...but I'm not going to tell him yet. I'm gonna wait until my friend eventually visits so I can laugh at the complete meltdown my roommate is going to have.

I think it stops being news when the Congressman and his kind just accept who they are. If these guys could just get it through their heads that very few people give a rip if they smoke dick or not, but a great many people are disgusted by their hypocrisy, we'd all be better off.

If this guy is anti gay for saying that marriage should remain between a man and a woman, well, then that makes Obama anti gay too then.
With that said, this dumbass homo should resign.

I don't get why you guys think it's such a big deal that a homosexual believes marriage should be a heterosexual thing.
If a homosexual politician was to vote in a way to oppose homosexual marriages then go to a State where homosexual marriage is legal and get married, that would be hypocrisy. But simply being homosexual and voting in that way is not.

BTW, I continue to be fascinated at the success homosexual activists have had in programing people. In particualr I'm talking about the persistent use of the term "gay" as opposed to "homosexual." That is not an accident and it's a testiament to a very effective "thought control" effort. I keep waiting to see if ANYBODY will call homosexuals "homosexuals." Rarely happens.

5 syllables vs. 1 syllable.
I also tend to say "man" instead of "Homo Sapien"
"Thought control."

Whether you or any other particular individual uses a term that is supposed to mean "happy" to refer to homosexuals is unknown. But there is no doubt that there was a concious effort to discourage use of the term "homosexual," even to the point of having the American Psychological Association(APA) recommend that it not be used in published literature, and that one rarely seems to see it used these days. And it has indeed been an effort to control thought. Absolutely no doubt about it.
I guess I'll have to find the APA committee report and recommendations I once read on that and bookmark it so I can link it for people whenever I say that. There was absolutely no doubt that the idea was to impact the way people think about homosexuality. There was discussion of how studies had suggested that whether one referred to people who prefer contact with their own sex as "homosexual" or "gay"made a difference in how people respond to the concept along with recommendations to promote the use of "gay" while discouraging the use of "homosexual."
Like I said, I can't know for sure if any one individual has been manimpulated without even realizing it. But I do suspect that you have. You've been bombarded with carefully crafted propaganda designed to "normalize" homosexuality for most of your life if you're relatively young. It's part of your background experience.

If that is what is going on here, you might be right. But it's also possible (and in my opinion likely) that he just says what he thinks his voters want to hear.

Yes, 5 syllables vs 1 syllable.
I tend to say "fag" instead of "homosexual".

What's weird is that I tend to use the term "gay" quite a bit but I would chose the phrase latently "homosexual" to desribe yours and JSO's posts.

A search of JSO's posts shows that he never uses the word "gay" when dealing with homosexuality...
