If you could have a heart-to-heart with any Republican and convince them to run for President, who would you pick?
(note, if you are a fan of someone already in the field, let us know).
Who would your second and third choices be?

I'm still registered as a Republican, but in reality am less of one than at any time in my voting life - strict Independent nowadays as both parties make me sick:
Chris Christie - he's our man!!!

Also an independently thinking registered Republican, I'm going with Palin and Bachmann just because they are girls.
You go girls!

Worse-than-RINO Wedgie? A Republican??? I call bullshat!!
But, to answer the question, I'd try to get Indiana's Daniels back in, then go after Christie. That assumes it's someone not already in. Not sure I have a third choice.

He understands what the problems are and how to fix them.

I'm a registered Democrat, but if I were a Republican, I'd want to see John St Onge run.

I think we know Wedgie's screwing with SH....
Third pick: Cain.
Fourth pick: Keyes.

OK - I haven't heard anyone mention this but how this for a darkhorse:
Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker
He took all kinds of crap months ago & dealt with a hostile Senate - hell he chased them to IL - but look at what happened. At a time when other states are running serious deficits, WI now operates with a friggin surplus. And the Blue state citizenry of the Badger state just affirmed his policies this week.
There's a track record you can run on - a person that had to make tough choices, a person that showed conviction, a person that showed leadership & got stuff done. Hell - I just described the exact opposite of Barack " I have no friggin idea how to fix this" Obama.
If Christie won't run - I'd vote for Walker!!!

He will never run becuase he's smarter than that, but I'd like to see Colin Powell run. He isn't someone that I would call conservative but I have a lot of respect for him and if he wanted the job, I think he could have been a really good president.

Senator Jim Demint of South Carolina would make a fine president of the 'late united states'.

I'm probably going to write in IvyTalk in the Florida primary because right now I can't say I really have a preference but I can state without any reservation that I will financially support, volunteer for, and vote for whoever the nominee is because my industry and our country can't stand four more years of the clown currently in the oval office.

Who? The Secretary of Defense? I'm not so sure about that. He was too acquiescent to Obama....

That's your next VP and likely a future inhabitant of the oval office... just not next year.

I'd like to see him run too as long as there's a guaranteed successful assassination attempt on him during the campaign.
