The Obama Way.HI54UNI wrote:"So this has been the plan all along, by the way. The plan all along was not to take a position, to let the days count down until we got to this point with 72 hours to go and then force a vote on something that they wanted. I believe that that has been the plan the entire time. And you can see it carrying itself out."
He nails it right here. Wait til the last minute, pass something quickly so nobody has a chance to read or analyze it. And by the end of next week people forget about it and they go on with business as usual.

But there he is lobbing scripted questions to Sen. Rubio, obviously written by Rubio in advance, so that Rubio will look brilliant when it looks he is answering off the cuff. Yea, a real act of courtesy in yielding for the questions.
Yep, Rubio is a virtual Jimmy Stewart: "Mr. Marco Goes to Washington!"CID1990 wrote:It is difficult to argue with much Rubio has to say here.
I am talking about not just the issue of the debt crisis itself, but also about what it must be like to go to Congress as a freshman Senator or Rep, with a mind to get things done, and then the frustration when you find yourself being inexorably pulled into the Washington wheeling and dealing machine that solves no problems and does its damndest to create new ones. You can hear the frustration in the guy's voice.
Well, if we continue down the current path, none of those issues will mean squat because the country will have ceased to exist.D1B wrote:Liked it. Rubio did an excellent job. Unfortunately, he's a conk, which means if you care about civil rights, reproductive rights for women, separation of church and state and other key aspects of freedom, you cant vote for him.
Let's talk about freedom, D1B. You Donks, with your obsession with state-conferred benefits and obligations, have no conception of the term. The Constitution, by setting limits on government and providing for the separation of powers, provides a framework for the maximization of political, economic and religious freedom. Markets generally work, if unfettered by costly regulations and taxes that discourage initiative. Business people aren't out to exploit the workers: they need properly motivated workers to earn a profit. Conservatives win that debate every time.D1B wrote:Liked it. Rubio did an excellent job. Totally agree Ivy. I (and practically all other donks) would exclusively vote conk if they weren't owned by the fucking Christians.Ivytalk wrote:Let's talk about freedom, D1B. A lot of them aren't owned by the Christian right. That said, there might one day soon be a need for a conservative party that has divested itself of the religious side, but my hope was that the Tea Party would be largely secular. That hasn't become evident yet (although I think that the Tea Party is in a very good position to make itself into a secular conservative movement, they seem to be currently squandering the opportunity).D1B wrote:Totally agree Ivy. Religion fucks up everything, especially amoral, intolerant and violent religions like christianity.
Yeah, so everything is cool, right Z? No abortion protesters harrassing women? No fucking catholics spreading misinformation and AIDS in Africa? No christians killing muslims recently? No catholic and fundamentalist christian churches ripping off the poor and elderly? No fuckhead catholic priest ass fucking three year old boys in the confessional while holding a gun to their heads and humming the theme from the Rockford Files?AZGrizFan wrote:You ARE aware the crusades are over, aren't you?D1B wrote:

Christ its fucking hilarious to watch sycophants like you rail on about the "violence" of Christianity yet whitewash muslim violence like its a schoolyard fistfight.D1B wrote:Yeah, so everything is cool, right Z? Muslims are worse, but they don't have the American military and their 1 trillion dollar budget at their disposal. Amazing how brainwashed fucks like you dismiss the fact that the united states, a christain nation, is currently involved in three wars and recently attacked a country for no reason other than to satisfy pent up rage from 9/11 - and killed tens of thousands of innocent people.AZGrizFan wrote:Christ its fucking hilarious to watch sycophants like you rail on about the "violence" of Christianity yet whitewash muslim violence like its a schoolyard fistfight.D1B wrote:
