“We’re going to take over all the political institutions in California. In five years the Hispanics are going to be the majority population of this state. California is going to become a Hispanic state and if anyone doesn’t like it they should leave. They ought to go back to Europe.”
Does it sound like the cries of ordinary, working-class people trying to improve life for their families, or is it the battle cry of an organized effort to take something that belongs to someone else?
The Civil Rights Movement and the illegal immigration problem bear no similarity and are as different as day and night. There is not a tinge of a basis for drawing a parallel.
It is frustrating that we still have large sectors of the populace who refuse to accept the evidence in front of them.
