Obama says Palestine must be based in 1967 borders

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama is endorsing the Palestinians' demand for their future state to be based on the borders that existed before the 1967 Middle East war, in a move that will likely infuriate Israel. Israel says the borders of a Palestinian state have to be determined through negotiations.
In a speech outlining U.S. policy in the Middle East and North Africa, Obama on Thursday sided with the Palestinians' opening position a day ahead of a visit to Washington by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu is vehemently opposed to referring to the 1967 borders.
Until Thursday, the U.S. position had been that the Palestinian goal of a state based on the 1967 borders, with agreed land swaps, should be reconciled with Israel's desire for a secure Jewish state through negotiations.

And Israel, who is surrounded by nations hell bent on their extermination, would get in return for:
-leaving Israel's territory only 8 miles wide at its narrowest point, with hostile territory only 3 miles from Ben Gurion International
-giving up all the holy sites of East Jerusalem
-having over 1/3 of a million people forced out of the West Bank
-giving up their biggest bargaining chip

basically nothing.

From what I've read on the internet, Bush also wanted this, and Clinton, and etc. The info is out there and takes a simple google search. I'm not really sure why it's suddenly Obama that's telling Israel to commit suicide. And as someone who does have a Palestinian roots, I'm ok with this idea.

Also Obama advocates a two-state deal without first settling the claims of the Palestinian refugees from 1948 to a right of return" which means the 1948 refugees demand a return to their homes in pre-1967 Israel. If that were part of any deal that would of course destroy Israel as a Jewish state, it would be overrun. It's an extreme demand that nobody in Israel can or ever would accept, and until the Palestinians agree, as they haven't, to relinquish this right, there can't be a deal.

I like Obama's outlook, if it was ever going to satisfy both sides that's what I would go with. That being said, if I was the next President of the USA I would tell the Israelis & the Palestinians this:

"Look you two have wasted 60 years of Americans time. Let's face it, 600 years from now chances look pretty good you still won't have this settled, so I'm not going to wate my time. There are hundreds if not thousands of things more important in my agenda than to police your BS. Why should we give back lands that were taken from the sand niggers after they invaded our country? If Israel must give up our lands taken as a result of our military prowess then the 'late united states' should be forced to give up New Mexico, Arizona, Cali, and all islands gained by WWII.
