If you earn well above average...I say Tax 'em...

And lets start on the college campus near you...

Let's take two college students...Jack and Sh'quandra...

Jack comes from a poor family and is receiving all kinds of aid, scholarships, work study...etc...

He really doesn't have to work a second job or worry about where the next dollar is coming from, thus he can study and gets a 4.0 GPA, and besides, Jack has always just got good grades...he partied in high school and still pulled down straight "As"...

Sh'quandra comes from parents who make about $90K a year...they just about get by (Sh'quandra is one of 3 kids in the family)...but they make too much to get any college financial assistance, and so poor Sh'quandra has to work two jobs after school to help pay her costs and have a few dollars in her pocket...her GPA is about 2.3 because she can't spend as much time studying as she wants to, and she has always had to work hard for her grades (was a "B" student in high school)

So, I say tax those making 3.98 or higher so that those making less than 3.0 can receive "fair" treatment...it's not their fault they are under achievers...

Wonder how that would go over among the supporters of the current administration on college campuses???

I agree with the

She sounds like she would be of a race that would be getting a pretty hefty minority scholarship at a good number of universities.

My daughter is in Sh'quandra's boat but is pulling straight A's in 19 hours of Linguistics courses while waiting tables with no financial aid. Shquandra needs to spend more time in the library.

Straight "A's"...very good...I can tell you are proud, as I was of my daughter as she worked on her Masters in Chemistry...

But now I'm sure she won't mind doing her patriotic duty by giving up some of that hard earned GPA to help those who aren't as gifted...or don't/can't work as hard as she has...

After all, she doesn't NEED all that GPA...even though she worked hard to earn it... :coffee:
