(NewsCore) - Federal authorities disclosed details late Tuesday of a credible plot to ignite a potentially devastating bomb along a parade route for Martin Luther King Jr. Day in Spokane, Wash.

“It definitely was, by all early analysis, a viable device that was very lethal and had the potential to inflict multiple casualties,” said Frank Harrill, the special agent in charge of the Spokane FBI office. “Clearly, the timing and placement of a device -- secreted in a backpack -- with the Martin Luther King parade is not coincidental. We are doing everything humanly possible to identify the individuals or individual who constructed and placed this device.”

Two unidentified security sources told The Spokesman-Review newspaper they were briefed that the bomb was equipped to detonate by a remote device, such as a car or garage door opener. The sources said the bomb was wrapped in shrapnel and carefully placed on a metal bench in front of a brick wall in an apparent attempt to maximize serious injuries for marchers.

It may well be some faction related to the Aryan Nations, but the Hayden Lake complex was closed early in the last decade if I'm not mistaken.

Yep. If memory serves the Southern Poverty Law Center won a lawsuit against them and they had to forfeit their compound as part of the settlement. That being said I have a relative in local law enforcement who was investigating a guy just a few years back that was suspected in the murder of a hispanic. The victims ear was cut off which was evidently an initiation trophy for joining the club. So I'm guessing their still around these parts, but of course there's ******* in every part of the country.

I have no doubt they're still around. It would be like saying the KKK isn't still operating in the south. I just thought I'd add a little BDKJMU fact mongering to the thread.
