I would expect nothing less from that "Old Arab".

Because if you can get into the pseudo-liberal club you can say just about any outrageously racist, bigoted, hateful thing you like and get away with it. I find it so disturbing that most of the ideals that I hold to be utterly true are so far to the left of anything the current DNC would even think of touching, and yet because I believe that along with these ideals comes a personal accountablity for each citizen of society to do their utmost to make said society successful and prosperous, and that a failure to do so, barring some physical or mental incapacity, renders you a burden worthy of expungement from that society, somehow renders me persona non grata to most of the douches that so incorrectly refer to themselves as to the left. (yes that is a major run-on, but a very nice one if I say so myself)

Of course, what this has to do with Israel's legitimacy completely baffles me, I just wanted to vent, and this seemed like as good a place as any. My personal feelings about the State of Israel are purely ethnic. This bitch could rot in hell if there were one.

Couple that with the fact that the every major MSM outlet on the web has a story about the SC Republican state senator who called the gubernatorial candidate a raghead. This story gets plastered all over the headlines, but the most vocal, recognizable, and well known reporter in the White House Press Corps bets a virtual free pass for her vile and disgusting comments about Jews.

What the heck. Lots of people have expressed that opinion. I don't like Helen Thomas but she's pretty up front about being a Liberal. I've seen her interviewed and asked about it and she's right out with it: "YES. I'm Liberal!" Doesn't hide it at all. Really, should anybody be surprised that she takes the "Jews are Occupiers" outlook towards the Iraeli/Palestinian situation? I don't agree with her, but I think it's a shame that people have to worry about getting all sorts of negative ramifications for saying what they think; especially when anybody familiar with them already knows they think it.

Besides, She's hot.

Saw her speak at UNC once. Lots of insight into history and journalism, but most of you are right. She's way too Lefty for me.

Two things: Number one, WWIII already took place (The Cold War) and Second, Historians, despite being good at dissecting and interpreting the past are pretty bad at guessing what's going to happen in the future.

That is an excellent summation of the bottom line. It's as you say: If Israel laid down its arms the Muslims would simply take advantage and wipe the Israelis out. If the Muslims laid down their arms Israel would leave them alone.

There is no question as to who the aggressors are in the overall context; and it's not the Israelis.

How about this - what was Israel before it was Israel..?

1) Well right before it was called Palestine (or British Mandate Palestine)
2) The previous 500 years it was part of Turkey (Ottoman Empire)

But of course England screwed this all up by deciding for everybody what was best, instead of letting the peoples who had controlled and lived their since the dawn of time decide what to do...

but I guess it's easier to just start from 1948 till now and pretend like that's as far back as time goes...

All I'm suggesting is the WRONG people decided who gets what and where in this situation and that's why we have a long standing probably never to be resolved issue - because the wrong people got involved

and amazing as it might seem - some people are still really angry about it...

And it's (for sure) not for a bunch pompous Americans sitting on their sofa's with a fat federal government who fucks up everything it touches internationally to be deciding or defending either...

That's all I'm saying - every time I hear an American tell me what the Palestinians ought to do I feel sick - how the fuck would we know how they feel, we killed 95% of the people who lived here - we enslaved millions - we've knowingly bombed civilians countless times in countless invasions...

And as a reasonable response to the ONE time we got attacked on our soil we killed over 100,000 people who had nothing to do with anything

so I really don't give a sh!t what some guy in Florida thinks the Palestinians out to do... but thanks anyway
