Yes. It's extremely top heavy and ineffective. Regardless of which party is in power.

I hate the federal government, but can't say I fear it.

I don't fear it, I just won't let "Big Brother" get to me.

Re: Are you scared of the Federal Government?
Yes, but what frightens me more is that we, as a society, have come to view government, whether federal or not, as an entity unto itself. We have to remember that we are the government and we need to be more involved in our process. I am frightened by ridiculously low voter turnout in both primaries and general elections for any race other than presidential(and that's pretty low too.) Basically, this is why I am frightened that the federal government can obtain too much power, because we are allowing it. And by the way, grizzaholic, the thread title and poll question are really two different questions.

Am I afraid I'll be arrested in the night for speaking out against it? No.
Am I afraid of it in that it is becoming too powerful for our own good and that it is a threat to my future? Yes

I'm afraid that whoever said people get the government they deserve was right.

You elected it. If you don't like it, elect a new one.

Re: Are you scared of the Federal Government?
I'm way more scared of the way in which so many people have accepted the dominant role of the Federal government than I am of the Federal government itself.

Re: Are you scared of the Federal Government?
Our Federal Government is run by Big Business / Lobby / Special Interest and greed...
What's to be scared of..?
Are you scared of Royal Dutch Shell, Exxon Mobil & BP
Are you scared of ING Group or the banks that Run our Federal Reserve
Are you scared of Wal-Mart the third largest company in the world
Are you scared of Allianz Insurance the insurance company that owns all the other insurance companies...
These are the masters that our Federal System prays to and diligently serves...
You don't have to dig very deep to find their fingers in every Federal pie and under every rock and in every committee and board, these are the powers behind virtually every stupid bill and all disservice to America
