I doubt any of us knew this guy existed....what a joke.Pentagon strategy chief Colin Kahl is in the hot seat over his role in the Biden administration's bungled Afghanistan withdrawal, four months after Senate Republicans unanimously opposed his nomination and warned that his appointment would be disastrous for national defense policy.
Kahl, the civilian head of policy planning at the Department of Defense and third highest ranking department official, has been a key player in planning for the Afghanistan withdrawal and the day-to-day policy decisions on the ground. While several Biden administration officials have been publicly defending the president’s decision to withdraw from Afghanistan, Republican foreign policy leaders say Kahl is the behind-the-scenes player largely responsible for the botched evacuation of Afghanistan and decision to leave Americans stranded in the country. The GOP lawmakers, who also have criticized Secretary of State Antony Blinken and White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan, now say their fears about Kahl's lack of fitness for the role are coming to pass.
Sen. Bill Hagerty (R., Tenn.), a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, told the Washington Free Beacon that Kahl "should never have been nominated by the president or confirmed by the Senate" and should be held responsible for the Biden administration's failures in Afghanistan, including for the hundreds of Americans who have reportedly been left behind. "In Kahl, we have someone not even qualified for a security clearance at the center of President Biden's incompetently planned and disorderly withdrawal from Afghanistan."
If Biden needs someone to throw under the bus, we know where to look .Ibanez wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 5:33 am https://freebeacon.com/national-securit ... -strategy/

When did integrity start to matter again?BDKJMU wrote:If the 3 stooges (Austin, Blinken, Milley) had any integrity, they would resign. But they won’t.
True, but I took it more of they displayed a lack of competence by messing up, so show some integrity and step down.
Well as I recall after Abu Grab, Rumsfeld wrote out a resignation letter and offered to resign, but Bush didn’t accept it.SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 11:23 amTrue, but I took it more of they displayed a lack of competence by messing up, so show some integrity and step down.
Wasn't it around Bill Clinton's time our officials quit stepping down for large displays of incompetence.
If the last guy had any integrity he wouldn't have sexually assaulted women, stiffed subcontractors and blaming others any time something bad happened.SeattleGriz wrote:True, but I took it more of they displayed a lack of competence by messing up, so show some integrity and step down.
Wasn't it around Bill Clinton's time our officials quit stepping down for large displays of incompetence? Going with your thoughts on showing integrity, which I agree with.
I think you are conflating personal and nation representing acts.UNI88 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 1:47 pmIf the last guy had any integrity he wouldn't have sexually assaulted women, stiffed subcontractors and blaming others any time something bad happened.SeattleGriz wrote:

If we're going to talk about integrity we should hold everyone to the same standards.

Yep. Plenty of things to knock Trump's integrity on, but not bolding anyone accountable for shitting the bed of this magnitude that resulted in hundreds of Americans abandoned in Afghanistan, no doubt what will be thousands of deaths, and arming a Terrorist organization with American hardware easily takes the cake.SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 1:53 pmI think you are conflating personal and nation representing acts.UNI88 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 1:47 pm

The time to resign was before 5 months ago when everybody saw this coming, and couldn’t get a certain few people off their asses to do anythingBDKJMU wrote:If the 3 stooges (Austin, Blinken, Milley) had any integrity, they would resign. But they won’t.
Your continuous “but Trump” is becoming tiresome.UNI88 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 1:47 pmIf the last guy had any integrity he wouldn't have sexually assaulted women, stiffed subcontractors and blaming others any time something bad happened.SeattleGriz wrote:

Biden should absolutely be held accountable, he fvcked this up royally, but Trump supporters talking about integrity is yugely hypocritical.SDHornet wrote:Yep. The difference between Trump and Biden's admins has been depth of incompetence not integrity.
