It's not that, Jon. It's the audacity of trying to portray herself as distant from the tentacles of Wall Street and lobbyists when it's public record that they're her biggest supporters. I gotta believe where there's smoke there's fire.

Sanders' win over the Hildabeast last night reminds me of the phrase that George Wallace supporters once used, albeit in a different ideological context: "Send 'em a message!"

Because of the suicidal tendency of voters in Republican primaries to support that buffoon Trump, Hillary has a better than even shot of being the next President. We have a real potential "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory" scenario going on right now.

You don't get it, John. If the conks win then they have to go to work and come up with ideas. Clearly they don't want that.

Except they won’t. Bernie destroyed hildabeast by 22 points and the super-delegates still went Hillary. Bernie is toast. I will thoroughly enjoy the butt hurt from the Bernie supporters about how rigged the system is…then I’ll thoroughly enjoy the Bernie supporters spin as they convince themselves voting for Hillary will be better than voting for a conk. It's great entertainment, but then you realize as you're leaving the theater that our next President will be one of these people:

Hillary Clinton
Donald Trump
Bernie Sanders
Ted Cruz
Marco Rubio
Jeb Bush

Then you throw up in your mouth a little.

Has it ever? The super delegates are not going to be allowed to turn over the lead primary/caucus vote getter from either side. If one side did it would be absolute chaos at the convention and they would so piss off a huge chunk of their base that they would be GUARANTEEING themselves a lost election.

I'll say it again, on both sides whoever ends up with the most caucus/primary delegates will win the nomination.

The conspiracy theory is that talk of this is being driven by the Clinton folks to put a damper on Bernie's momentum.

Stop it. The GOP's problem is that folks like Cruz and Rubio aren't electable nationwide. The GOP can and does dominate pretty much every other area in politics today (state legislatures, state governorships, H of R and the Senate), but they don't win the Presidential elections lately because they don't have people that appeal to a nationwide swath of voters. The Presidency is a popularity contest - people vote for someone they feel they can like or trust - policies are almost unimportant. And right now, for better or for worse, people like Trump better than anyone else running on the GOP side.

In a closely contested race whoever wins the most primary/caucus delegates in the state races before the convention could still not win the nomination (in theory at least) if most of the Super delegates at the convention went to who had the 2nd most primary/caucus delegates.

Super delegates are bullshit. You have the will of the people voting and then you allow special Democrats/Republicans (Congress, Governors, Mayors, etc...) an EXTRA vote because...why not? I know it's about 15% of the total delegate count but it's bull shit.

Here's a brief history:
In 1968, after the riots at the Democratic national convention in Chicago, party leaders knew they needed to change the nomination process to give ordinary people more of a say in how the potential president was chosen. Thus, the state-by-state primary/caucus system was born. By the 1980s, the party elites felt left out of the process, bereft of all influence, and they thought their absence had hurt the party when weaker candidates like George McGovern and Jimmy Carter were nominated. Jim Hunt, Governor of North Carolina, was commissioned to fix the alleged problem, and by 1984 the Superdelegate system was implemented. Democrats thought that by giving more power to party leaders, it would prevent “unelectable” candidates, beloved by the populace, from costing them the general election.

With the way this election is going, if Sanders wins the popular vote and the DNC (Super delegates) ignore the will of the people, the GOP could sail into the White House. I don't see that happening. They couldn't be that corrupt.
