The request was made on Friday “to replace expended state stores,” the document said.

That's me too with a couple of changes ... I would add that businesses have the right to require a mask to the upper right circle and "by Democrats and Republicans" to the lower circle.

Yup.
Companies can make the rules for their own safety w/o government interference.

If there's one thing I've learned being in the workforce, and from reading history, it's that companies will rarely make rules that benefit their employees unless forced to by government (aka. the People).
Plenty of workers have passed away from or contracted Covid-19 due to the lackadaisical approach to health concerns at the workplace.

That's nice AZ, I'm sure that statement really helps all the people who aren't protected. They should all pull themselves up by the bootstraps, quit their jobs, and find different ones because that's always the practical approach to everything... especially since we vote down all social safety nets which it make it easier to leave your job in order to protect your well-being.

Hey, dipstick....all I'm doing is pointing out the (once again) GIANT hypocrisy of your BLANKET statement that "companies will NEVER (emphasis added) make rules that benefit employees" unless forced to. Maybe YOUR company does that BS. Maybe OTHER companies do it. But certainly not ALL companies, and the only one that I've worked for that operated that way was the US government.∞∞∞ wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 10:17 am That's nice AZ, I'm sure that statement really helps people who aren't protected. Here's a thought: quit making blanket statements with giant logical holes in them and you'll be mocked less....
just a short list of some of the employee-friendly rules we implemented as a result of COVID:
- paid 100% of our employees 100% of their pay, whether they were able to come to work or not ($3.9 million in expense)
- didn't lay off a single employee, even if they were unable (for whatever reason) to work from home during the height of the pandemic
- paid 100% of their salaries even if they were on leave due to COVID issues, daycare issues, primary care provider issues, etc.
- paid 100% of COVID related costs for anyone unfortunate enough to incur costs associated with severe COVID cases ($900,000 in expense)
- spent $2 million in employee safety devices (temp scanners, DHP air scrubbers, plexiglass, etc.) for enhanced employee safety
- moved 74% of employees to work-from-home status, and 50% still remain there today
And NONE of these decisions were made/forced by "the people". We did them because they were the right thing to do.

Don't worry, I don't consider what you say to be mocking, just disconnected from reality and history.

Definitely not you, the person who thinks this is a "ginned up" pandemic. Too bad the 4.3M and 710K who have lost their lives around the world and the US, respectively, aren't here to give their thoughts about how connected to reality that statement is.

Re: Coronavirus COVID-19
You know who else has done just about all of that? Most publicly traded companies and many more local businesses that were fortunate enough to adapt a new business model during lockdown in order to at least pay the bills. Not to mention, and I say this anecdotally, the local companies like we have here that partnered together to make sure kids that were in lockdown/shut down and had zero access to nutritional foods, were able to get 3 meals a day. Our local Toppers (pizza), a deli and a few other restaurants made lunch bags and take home dinners, free of charge for needy families.AZGrizFan wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 10:20 amHey, dipstick....all I'm doing is pointing out the (once again) GIANT hypocrisy of your BLANKET statement that "companies will NEVER (emphasis added) make rules that benefit employees" unless forced to. PS - just about everything your CU did was also done by BAC, WF, Ally, JPMorgan and Citi (i'm 90% sure Citi).

Re: Coronavirus COVID-19
What's the answer then? Should the government should force them to do something they struggle to do? Or maybe instead of rushing through a stimulus package, our august leaders could have put a little thought into it and provided these businesses with assistance rather than shotgun blasting it to random businesses.kalm wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 12:16 pm80 some my percent of American businesses are small and probably struggle to do what’s needed.Ibanez wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 11:01 am
