That's in South Windermere in Charleston, SC. Back in the 40/50s a lot of Jewish families lived there...then a lot of Catholics (like my grandparents). Aside from 1 or 2 a year, the neighborhood didn't really turn over until the early-mid 2000s when people either inherited the homes or bought them after the occupants died.

The neighborhood is now a good mix of young families and a large gay population.

South Windermere still has some Jewish businesses... that Russian shoe guy and of course the Jewish barber shop. That barber shop used to be a HOOT
Id get a haircut there and all the dudes in there were Jewish, saying “y’all” and talking about fishing. That’s Citdog’s crew.

WT (and Byrnes Down) are from what I hear, are almost like ION (but with more swinging and less cocaine)
HEY! I'On was one of this first of its kind in the US. They're trailblazers!! There aren't many neighborhoods in Mt. P that AREN'T pretentious. Mount P is a status symbol (at least it was when I was growing up). I've always like Rivertowne and Snee FarmCID1990 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 26, 2021 1:51 pmI'On.... what a fucking pretentious piece o shit neighborhood that was
So... the neighborhood next door to it... there's a guy who was in the police pipe band with me who lives in that neighborhood and when they built I'On they put up a fence between them so the I'On people could pretend they were actually the Battery. So anyway, my buddy's hobby was making tater guns. He'd sit on his porch in the evening and drink beer and shoot taters into I'On
