Rough weekend in Chicago

Post by ASUG8 »

(CNN)When a city has seven killings in two days, including the death of a 7-year-old boy, something is systemically wrong.

That's what Chicago's police chief said after a spate of bloodshed that tormented the city over the weekend.

"We need to repair a broken system," Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy told reporters Sunday. "Criminals don't feel the repercussions of the justice system."
Even with a 30% increase in the number of police on the streets over the holiday weekend, seven people were killed between Friday morning and Sunday afternoon, the superintendent said.

Another 40 people were wounded in weekend shootings, McCarthy said.

And since Friday morning, Chicago police have recovered one illegal gun per hour across the city, McCarthy said.

Chicago is a gun free zone, one would hope the liberal controlled public school system would teach these people to read the signs.

Really? I never said it wasn't a problem, but it's obviously become less of a problem than it was in the 90s. :coffee:

93 asked where they'd be without strict gun control. I said apparently the early-mid 90s, and provided a graph to back it up. Comprende? :coffee:

So what that graph tells us is that - on a national level - gun control is working..?

Depends on whether the "other cities" have gun control. If they don't, then gun control is not working in Chicago.

No, it directly correlates with the outbreak of Playstation gaming systems in 1994.

Since then all crimes have come down because a lot of kids choose to stay inside and not commit as many crimes, it didnt stop crimes from happening it just lessened their frequency.

Everyone but GATW knows this.

You do know the difference between correlation and causation, right? Or were you too busy sniffing farts in middle school?
