Good job, Cap'n... but you aren't done yet.
I want you to go through those executive orders and pick out the ones where Bush ordered the non-enforcement of duly passed laws

that was not nearly as damaging as another example I have in mindIbanez wrote:Like Obama and the ACA? Wink wink nudge nudgeCID1990 wrote:

but really- executive orders are not illegal in and of themselves. there are powers available to the executive branch that are perfectly legitimate
Also- there are previous presidents who have overreached with their executive orders. But I would submit that no president before this one has used the executive order to actually affect legislation... and if one has, I would love to see it (rather than so and so had more executive orders than Obama.. that's just bait for low information Democrat voters)

Re: The Executive Orders of George W. Bush
it would probably be more worthwhile to try to find if there are any presidents who didn't use executive orders primarily to relax, tweak, or change enforcement of laws.CID1990 wrote: I want you to go through those executive orders and pick out the ones where Bush ordered the non-enforcement of duly passed laws
With a hostile Congress that doesn’t show much sign of coming toward us on some of these issues, it behooves us to take the initiative when we can take it.
