Yes, an agreement because Hitler promised full cooperation with Catholic and Protestant churches. But I want scholarship on this matter. What were the repercussions? Interpretations, etc. I recommend Thomas Bokenkotter's, A Concise History of the Catholic Church. His chapter on the Church and Nazism is well done.

Remember, Hitler duped the U.S., Brits, and Moscow during his rise to power. It wasn't just the church.
In 1989, your pope apologized for inaction in stopping killing of Jews. He also apologized for your church's historical role in fostering hatred against the jews. The blame for two thousand years of antisemitism falls squarely on the catholic church.

The cowardice of the church before, during and after the war was breathtaking.
Here's Pope Pius's encyclical that was smuggled into Germany and read in Catholic pulpits on Palm Sunday, 1937. It denounced the evils of Nazism.

If the Nazi's and the Vatican were joined at the hip in committing atrocities as you claim, why would the papacy's prestige be at an all-time high during the 1950's, after the war?

Never said they were joined at the hip. The Church were cowards.

As long as Jews were persecuted, they didn't give a fuck.

I don't think so. Read A Concise History of the Catholic Church. As I mentioned his chapter on the church during the rise of Hitler and WW2 is outstanding. He's balanced as well and provides criticism too. He does use end notes and his sources are good.

Thanks. I'll keep an eye out for it.

Again, the Church for the most part didn't intentionally aid or support Hitler or Mussolini or Franco. Aside from token gestures or encyclicals in a vacuum, they did nothing. Sure the rest of the world fell asleep, but the church not only failed to garner the courage to help stop the atrocities, but signed lucrative partnership and land agreements with both fascist dictators before the war - to cover their ass(ets).
