How terrifying. Clearly we aren't taking white supremacist threats to democracy seriously enough.
The fact that these idiots in DC installed all this extra fencing and security for a few doz protestors.. :dunce:
That's hindsight, though. They were expecting several hundred to protest the treatment of people who earlier this year broke into the building, vandalized it, attacked police and erected a gallows to hang the VPOTUS.

The last protest of like minded people has a death count...they were probably preparing for the worst. :twocents:

Just to be clear, you're telling me that the Metropolitan and Capitol police were hoping for the protest to get out of hand so that politicians could use it for political advantage?

The last protest was also denied a NG presence by our esteemed leaders. :coffee:

They were probably more Feds in attendance than actual protesters...

Heck, the uniformed feds, reporters, and plainclothes feds were probably 90% of the people there..

The Architect of the Capitol, House and Senate Sergeants at Arm who reported Pelosi and McConnell. Republicans immediately after laid the blame on Pelosi and conveniently ignored the Senate Sgt. at Arms (reporting to a Republican) and assuming that security decision was made in a vacuum. Logic would say that if 2 people have equal authority, then both are to blame.

You'd have to read and do your research to realize placing the blame on Pelosi is crap.
Republicans have falsely laid the blame on Pelosi without mentioning that GOP Leader McConnell had similar authority over the security officials that day. But there is no evidence that either was involved in any effort to block the National Guard before or during the insurrection.

I thought the old coot was going to bail when he voted the last big spending bill. Guess I was wrong. Democrats in the state will nominate some liberal that can't get elected in Iowa to run against him and he will cruise to victory. :ohno:

Bunch of idiots that did that. Cancel out each other's votes. :wall:

We do love our incumbents in Iowa. Branstad as governor, Grassley. Harking, Steve King, etc. :ohno:

But one reason left-wing authoritarianism barely shows up in social-psychology research is that most academic experts in the field are based at institutions where prevailing attitudes are far to the left of society as a whole.

It is a bit of a fluff article. But I love this part:

“Although right-wing authoritarianism is well documented, social psychologists do not all agree that a leftist version even exists. In February 2020, the Society for Personality and Social Psychology held a symposium called “Is Left-Wing Authoritarianism Real? Evidence on Both Sides of the Debate.”

What planet are these idiots on?

The hands down majority of 20th century regimes around the world that were (and are) authoritarian were full on leftist. The 20th century body count is heavily due to leftist regimes, even allowing for Nazi Germany to be classified as right wing (debatable) and Pinochet’s Chile.

I think they must be specifically referring to contemporary American politics.... I mean, they have to be, right? Because if they aren’t, then they need to stop being referred to as academics

Social Democratic Party (center-left) leading exit polls over Angela Merkel's Christian Democratic Union Party (center) in German elections.

It's a tight race though, and exit polls are simply just that.
