Re: NFL COMBINE UPDATE
So as far as those 6 JMU seniors, my guess would be: -Moats- drafted late 2nd day -Caussin- drafted late 2nd day -Brooks- maybe a combine invite, not drafted, will get a free agent contract to be in someone's camp, long shot to make a team, hopefully could make a practice squad. -McGee- maybe a comb...

Re: NFL COMBINE UPDATE
Yeah, wishful thinking... I've seen 7th round projections for Brooks... but he's more of a maybe in my book. Just throwin him out there as he's probably the only other player on the team who could potentially receive an invite IMO. Actually I would say Caussin has a shot to get an invite. I don't k...

Re: JMU DJ makes his mid-week NC lean
So, sounds like people from both sides are selling the other team short so I decided to do some analytical analysis. First up - Villanova: As of 11/23/09 - Victories against opponents with top 25 GPI - 7: #2 Richmond #5 William & Mary (twice) #8 New Hampshire #17 James Madison #18 Delaware #20 ...

This ESPN crew is actually pretty good too. Seem to be familiar with the CAA and FCS ball.

Re: Richmond needs a smaller stadium
Robins Stadium (that's the name of the on campus stadium) will seat 8700. I know that a number of folks "sneer" at that capacity. However there are a couple of reasons for an 8700 stadium instead of a 12000 to 15000 facility. Richmond is a small private university of around 2800 undergrad...

Re: London Offered UVA job, likely to accept
They're going to have a tough time. Their team was LOADED with seniors this year. Breaking in a lot of new players and a new coach will not be easy. If I were Richmond, I'd go after Gilmore from Holy Cross. I talked to the other coaches They said they thought it would be Gilmore from Holy Cross or ...

Re: #1 Offense in the Nation Getting Handled
The problem, listening to some CAA posters, is that every time you type - you are putting Montana down by saying, just wait until you have to play the CAA. Heard that before the JMU game last year. Whether it is Richmond or App both teams will have their hands full. Could Montana lose next week? Ye...

Re: JMU to play Virginia Tech in 2010
So you're at LSU then. Pretty cool to go to games at Death Valley, huh? I keep forgetting how historically bad VT is against the SEC -( 26 -50 ) I n the past 5 years they're 0-4 with losses to LSU, Auburn, Bama, and UGA. Oh, so you're watching game Between The Hedges. Eh, probably less so tha...

Re: Hofstra Dropping Football?
My guess is that the CAA will drop the two division concept for the next two years and go with a single.. ten team league. Each CAA team would then play eight of the nine other CAA schools and still be able to play three OOC games. Once both ODU and Georgia St enter the league (2012). . the CAA cou...

Hopefully he could put together a better one than our AD did this year.... I saw a proposed schedule for next years that wasn't the one Travis has over here.... I was horrified. :o The one where we end the season in Maine? Yeah, not thrilled about that one either, I always liked having the Towson b...

Whoa! If you're talking about this year you ARE in serious tailgate country---and a far cry from FCS. Good of you to keep the faith. I would suspect you've never been at a JMU tailgate in the student area, I remember the W&M tailgate from the 2004 playoffs so I understand where you are coming f...

Mickey Matthews mentioned as candidate for Marshall job
Just one Charleston, WV sports writer's opinion: "...It depends on this hire, of course. My ideal candidate would somebody from the offensive side, though it would be ludicrous to rule out James Madison's Mickey Matthews, the Herd's defensive coordinator under Jim Donnan. The candidate would kn...

Re: Mike London to UVA???
It really depends on if he wants to have the possibility of playing for a national championship. Granted, UVa historically blows, but at least if they put together an undefeated season somehow, they'd have a better shot of making the BCS title game than Boise, which goes undefeated a lot, and finis...

Re: JMU to play Virginia Tech in 2010
Been to lane Stadium twice before myself- the last game of the 99' season when VT with Vick thumped BC to go 11-0 and face FSU in the National Title game and also when they thumped BC in 01' when VT was ranked in the top 10-15 at the time. But that was before they had finished their major expansion ...
