Re: College Education
That's a good point, JSO. Sadly, more often than vice versa there's talk of requiring fewer upper-level classes and requiring more non-major credits, usually accompanied by the chorus of "colleges are turning into vocational schools!" and "what about a well-rounded education and lear...

The federal government has a magic vault that never runs out of money. Who cares what the balance sheet looks like? Party like it's 1999.

Not only that, but I've heard some republiconks are planning to burn down Nancy Pelosi's mansion while she is asleep. Did you see that "fire Nanci Pelosi" website that the RNC has? Disgusting!

Re: Georgia Southern's leading rusher quits, looks to transfer:
Just don't think he has the speed for the A-back position and Monken for some reason doesn't want to play him at fullback. So he might as well transfer somewhere else. There are many FCS and DII schools he could go to where he'd be the starter. Good luck to him [EDIT] LoL...why is the word "phu...

Bobby Lamb - he got a pass last year for having two BCS teams on the schedule but this year I think the Furples are going to be the preseason #2 or #3 in the conference and I think they will want playoffs. Jerome Souers - agree with Dback Mizzou State's Terry Allen I also think Montana State will ge...

Re: UNI over KU or ASU over UM?
Appie. Sorry UNI, but it's much harder for the little guy to bring down a big guy in football than in basketball. I'm sure there have been schools that play bball in FCS conferences that have brought down top 5 teams. In football, it doesn't happen nearly as often.

Also, I think states should get a HOPE-like system like Georgia's. It could be funded through a state lottery and extra taxes on legal casinos. I remember Alabama trying. The Religious Right bitched and moaned and voted it down on the ballot. :( Which is why it will be hard. Every state will have e...

Re: College Education
As I've said in at least three other threads related to this subject, the costs need to get under control before we do any of that. The reason costs have raced way ahead of inflation is that too many schools have too many unneccesary and expensive bread and circus programs to attract the type of stu...

I saw this on washingtonpost.com a couple hours ago. I was going to post it, just to see the reactions (cuz honestly, who gives a crap? If this gets you worked up, you need to do some serious soul-searching). But then I figured that Travis would probably post it anyways. Guess I was right. :coffee:...

Hey, Obama said he was getting out of Iraq in 17 months, so only 5 month left with US involvement in Iraq 5 months?  I'm betting it will go on until at earliest late 2011. The political pressure to wrap it up quickly and leave is minimal. The anti-war left tend to give the benefit of t...

"What Ann Coulter is practicing is not free speech, it's hate speech," he said. " She's targeted the Jews , she's targeted the Muslims, she's targeted Canadians, homosexuals, women, almost everybody you could imagine." Clearly that fool doesn't understand free speech. His school...

Darn kids taking credit cards from their mom's purse and riding their bikes to McDonalds to buy happy meals! In my day if you wanted to eat McDonalds you needed cash and you needed to drive there! This'll put a stop to it, though!

Common sense would dictate tort reform, but no, we mustn't jeopordize the donk's chances in 2010 any more than they are now by hurting Obama's trial lawyer friends. Now doctors are going to have to go through the red tape to approve any test or procedure...and malpractice insurance costs are going t...

What a surprise...the most expensive and most likely to be popular portions of healthcare bill take effect immediately and the ones designed to cut costs take effect well after the 2010 and 2012 elections.
By the way, did Shrub ever pass a bill that didn't get a single donk vote?

If September 1, 2007 didn't do a lot for FCS schools and smaller DI schools I don't see how this would. But congratulations just the same. I like seeing the big dogs go down do the little dogs in basketball too.

Disgusting, but don't read too much into it. You'll have many assholes at any kind of demonstration. Case in point - pro-abortion activists talking about post-birth abortions for evangelical Christians.
