Re: Montana CB granted eligibility, 4 years after last playi

Jalmond, what is meant by this curious comment of yours? "the same team that would not testify on this kid's behalf and now welcomes him with open arms" "Quenton Freeman refused to testify. Investigators had traveled to Missoula in the weeks after the incident, finding no cooperation...

Re: Montana CB granted eligibility, 4 years after last playi

Touching story and interesting comments, both here and on egriz. Still, I don't think even the Ducks have a person on their roster who has been acquitted for murder. Maybe there are standards in Eugene after all. I'm trying to find some good in this but I still go back to what I've heard even going ...

Re: Big Sky Standings 2010 Predictions?

Maybe a poor choice of words on my part. Still, history has not been too kind in recent years for the Hornets in the Big Sky, and no one could have objectively predicted the success the Hornets had last year after Hilliard went down . They won the games they should last year and the NAU game was a ...

Re: Big Sky Standings 2010 Predictions?

 The question regarding our new QB is how much better he will be than Nichols, a little or a lot. A beefier seasoned O-line, Taiwan Jones and the return of Zach Johnson; there is no anxiety in Cheney. I know you're an ubber-fan, but the guy hasn't taken a snap for the Eagles. Might you just w...

Re: Big Sky Standings 2010 Predictions?

Griz have questions, too, mainly revolving around a new coaching staff. Interesting that the schedule makers put the UM/EWU game so early in the season. It is quite possible the outcome could be different if it were to be played later in the year. Also, a lot of people (myself included) are intrigu...

Re: Big Sky Standings 2010 Predictions?

EWU has neither an established QB nor a strong defense. They will not beat Montana. Second in the BSC will be a total tossup among MSU, EWU, Weber and NAU. There is nothing unusual about this coming year. SacSt, PSU, ISU and UNC will still be out of it. Griz have questions, too, mainly revolving ar...

Re: Billings Gazette Ranks Returning BSC Players

Two polls I follow the most for the Big Sky are the coaches poll and the media poll, both of which had the Cats and Griz pretty high (higher than Portland State) so I guess it is all relevant. I'm amazed he had all this time to make an "accurate" assessment of all the returning talent in ...

Re: Billings Gazette Ranks Returning BSC Players

I definately agree with not much to cover and I think Will Holden from the chronicle is going crazy. One thing about Rachac that is funny is that Griz fans think he is pro MSU and Cat fans think he's Griz biased. Yeah, maybe with all that free time on his hands, Mr. Holden can finish posting his re...

Re: Hey Albany fans, how's that RB you stole from Montana?

Finding a superstar in Drummond was brillant. What to do for an encore, finding a superstar in Ovando? There are but two BSC representatives on the two teams in this FCS preseason All-American forecast. Both are first team, playing for Montana and from Drummond, class C, 8-man football. All the Ore...

Re: Billings Gazette Ranks Returning BSC Players

The only position I might question is the RB ranking but then again MSU finished second in rushing offense last year with a bunch of no names. Taking all the pre-season polls into consideration and averaging them out, puts MSU 2nd and EWU 3rd. So it now becomes a bias on a national scale as opposed...

Re: Billings Gazette Ranks Returning BSC Players

Cool analysis Madman! I think it does reflect a very loose projection of where BSC teams are likely at, but of course there are a million intangibles that take place throughout a season with injuries, sickness, refs, mother nature, and as you mentioned, no-namers stepping up and becoming known. Int...

Shead did not see many balls thrown to him last year. The opposite side was basically by committee last year and teams could throw away from him with a pretty good level of success. I don't know if that will change this year. Remains to be seen.

In other words, the WAC is going to wait and see what will happen with... 1. Louisiana Tech 2. the rest of the conference without Boise State 3. the western part of FCS (the Great West schools and the Big Sky) Sure the WAC has history as an eight team league, but their own greed brought them to wher...
