Re: Playoff Projections- Nov. 8

FAMU gets to count Tennessee State, Morgan State and NC A&T as key wins but EWU only gets to count MSU? I think you should at least include Western Oregon. :thumb:

Re: Playoffs: Where we stand (11/7)

Nice work bench. It looks very likely that there's only one spot up for grabs.

If MSU and EWU both win out would MSU's win against Montana trump there head to head loss to EWU?

Re: Who's #1?

14-3 and 38-28 against an Ivy and Big South are hardly better than 12-10 against a down ISU. At least Idaho State has a National Championship banner hanging in its stadium and comes from a conference that fully funds scholarships. Illogical would be describing a team from a power conference (no mat...

Re: WTF Griz

Ok ok some consolation? Eight years ago, last place Idaho State was up on MT by two TDs in Pocatello. The Griz rallied and barely beat the lowly Bengals 31-28....Everyone figured the Griz would be out early in the playoffs.. Two months later the Griz won the national championship. Alcohol is a funn...

Re: Big Sky Predictions 11-7

No sarcasm. I enjoy the weekly game breakdowns and pregame analysis. I tend to just focus on Sac State so it gives me an idea of what other teams in the BSC are up to. Plus it gives me a little insight as to how teams are playing with respect to the last few weeks so I can try to anticipate how eac...

Re: Who's #1?

Richmond barely beat VMI (38-28) and Nova barely beat Penn (14-3) earlier this season. Did you move them out of the top five at that time? At least one of Montana's sister of the poor fully funds scholarships. The games you mentioned were both double digit victories. Not last second FG wins, agains...

Re: Who's #1?

My top 5 will probably look like this (with last weeks position in parentheses): 1) Villanova (5) 2) SIU (3) 3) Elon (4) 4) Montana (1) 5) William & Mary (7) You're going to move Richmond all the way out of the top five for losing by one point to Villanova? I'd think moving Montana all the way ...

Re: Montana @ Idaho State

Man, this would have been an upset of epic proportions. Even though they pulled it out... pretty embarassing for Montana. Idaho State had lost all their games... none of their losses (before facing mighty Montana) were even close. This might have been bigger than ASU/Michigan. :coffee: :| :| ...

Re: Milestones Accumulate

You're just saying that cause Meyer beat you guys once and Nichols has not. Meyer had a better single season, and better scrambling ability, but Nichols has a better arm, better stats, and one better game against the Griz. The D just didn't hold up their end of the bargain in 07 and this year. You'...

Being a 4 year starter has a lot of benefits. Nichols is a good QB, but not as good as Erik Meyer. You're just saying that cause Meyer beat you guys once and Nichols has not. Re: Milestones Accumulate

That does seem like a stupid rule and one easy to rectify. Still, with at least two games left, Matt will unofficially own the #2 spot behind Dickenson and certainly be in some fine company. Now, if you wanna talk about Dave Dickenson go start your own damn thread and quit hijacking this one. :coff...

Milestones Accumulate

A somewhat down junior year and living in the shadow of Armanti Edwards has Matt Nichols quietly finishing one of the better careers in the history of FCS quarterbacks. I hadn't realized until I read this article that he is already in the FCS top 10 for career total offense yardage and passing yards...

Re: Playoffs: Where we stand (10/31)

My bad, I thought we were talking about a "7-3" EWU team which as I've admitted would get passed over for an 8-3 UNI which won the head to head. Just not neccessarily for the one reason you gave although I will admit that W&M got screwed last year. For that matter a 7-4 Weber State wo...

Re: Playoffs: Where we stand (10/31)

So then it would stand to reason that an LU team with 8 DI wins and no bad losses would get in over either Big Sky team with 7, right?   Sorry, to make it more clear, I'm discussing the comparison between an 8-3 UNI and a 7-4 EWU. My bad, I thought we were talking about a "7-3&...

Re: Top Rankings for Computer and Human Poll Biases - 10/31

Don't like polls. I don't need a computer to figure out the 8 auto-bid conference winners. Does anyone else? After that, with any form of intelligence, I could probably pick the next 8 best teams. The committee does it. I know it's not always the next best 8 teams but, you get the idea...right? Las...

I also think it suggests that the computers give more weight to the power conferences.

Re: Big Sky Power Rankings 11-2

I would love to have a real convo with fans over the age of 14 though any day. I would really love these forums if we had a rule that you had to be 18 to use them. There is no way to monitor this though. I'm not saying EWU's a joke, you have a very good team. I have no reason to not want to see big...

Re: Playoffs: Where we stand (10/31)

I've mentioned this in another thread, but beyond the "any team with less than 7 DI wins will be in serious jeopardy of not being considered for an at-large bid" soft requirement, I would like to think the committee takes the time in considering the quality of DI wins. One of UNI's "...

3 loss mvfc or Bsc Just say the MVFC has UNI at 8-3, lets compare records vs DI teams UNI 8-3 vs DI, and 8-2 vs FCS Best outcome for each of the Big Sky teams, and NAU loses to Mississippi. This is the best record each team could possibly have otherwise. They won't finish this way because NAU plays...

IMO, the MVFC has 3 teams locked in already, unless a unexpected upset happens. 4 losses for UD and UMass vs at worst a 3 loss MVFC team at the worst. Re: Playoffs: Where we stand (10/31)

I generally think the BSC will get more than one bid.....it would be ridiculous if they didn't. Good thing it's not about what conference you're from, but who you beat and who you lose to. :thumb: 75% of who who you beat and who you lose to is dictated by what conference you're.
