Re: Professional Athletes - Activism & Racism

Agreed. If you don't like religion, it's easy to pooh-pooh the eternal salvation angle - the whole "opium for the masses" quote comes to mind for folks with that perspective. Religion is always going to be tough like that, it doesn't fit nicely into the "quantifiable intended results...

Re: Coronavirus COVID-19

In regards to your statement about a lack of national leadership, what would you have liked to seen? Personally, I was fine with national leadership leaving it up to each state, but realize not everyone feels that way. There have been numerous articles on it, not to mention real identity examples o...

Re: Coronavirus COVID-19

I’m not absolving ANY politician from the first paragraph. Our fear of the government isn’t irrational. The last year should have proven that beyond a shadow of a doubt. The 1st paragraph begat the 2nd....sorry that it’s more blah blah to you. Gov’t likes sheep.  Our fear of government i...

Re: The Official "Making America Woke Again" Thread

Can anyone explain to me how opening schools is considered racist? I'm having trouble getting past the fact that the less affluent and minorities are hit the hardest by the closures. Wouldn't sending the kids back benefit those children and their parents? LA’s (black) union president said that it w...

Re: Some final Trump and Obama economy numbers

I had not said anything bad about Trump. I just gave the number. I even said that the fact that unemployment was low to begin with didn't give much room to lower it further. But I do still wonder how you guys can say he deserves all the credit for something like the low unemployment rate for Blacks...

OSU is my most hated team west of the Mississippi not named Bozeman State. Which pains me, given that their BB coach is a Griz, their star BB player the last four years was a Missoula kid. I HATE beaver, especially THE Beavers. :ohno: :ohno: Why? Isn't that like hating the kid that gets picked last...

Show me a regulation written in our lifetimes that doesn’t “reflect a certain philosophy”. It could be interesting for John to tell us why that "certain philosophy" is bad while maintaining that he is both a conservative and a libertarian. The logical gymnastics would put Nadia Comaneci t...

Re: Coronavirus COVID-19

I would argue that the initial restrictions were viewed as “necessary” to some extent. It was the continually changing narrative, constantly moving goalposts, and disingenuous nature of our political leaders that caused all follow on recommendations/requirements to be looked at with a jaundiced eye...

I doubt you were the first. And I’ve never ignored anything. I’ve been very consistent from the beginning....the trade off was NOT worth it. To save thousands, we destroyed millions of peoples lives. Just like a good leftie, making every decision in a vacuum with zero concern of ancillary effects. I think YOU should provide evidence that the “trade off” was worth it. I was the first one this board to point out the economic concerns of locking down vs. not locking down. And that was back in Apri...
