Re: 2020 General Election

Goldman Sachs and Moody’s both predict a quicker economic recovery if there’s a blue wave. https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/06/business/economy-election-blue-wave-goldman-sachs/index.html?fbclid=IwAR1xxBiHmJKJsWS6ionKhcnBKiCqb83i9F2kd-Ue5fpu5kxKhcOmTsrkM-4 Is it good to have Goldman Sachs in your corner...

Re: 'This is their new hoax'

Trump wasn’t tested at the debate site. We know that, but it's doesn't fit the alt-right conspiracy. Not to add to silly conspiracies, but I thought Covid was pretty infectious, so you wouldn't have to test Trump directly and infect him - infect those close to him and he'll get it soon enough. As c...

Re: 2020 NBA Season

NBA ratings are at an all-time low. I have to admit, I'm not watching the Finals right now. Not a Lebron fan, so there's that, but I also just don't really care. Has nothing to do, for me at least, with anything in particular, I just don't feel the need to spend my time watching it. https://www.si.c...

Re: 2020 General Election

This idea that fraud doesn't exist and it never has is ludicrous. Do people not read history books anymore? It was commonplace in Texas in the 40's and the 50's for parties to "hold back" votes to see how the election was going, and then to release votes as needed to push their candidate over the to...

As with all things science, you only have consensus when you don't ask enough scientists. Growing movement in the science circles that mirrors what many have said previously - lockdowns and other measures to curb Covid may be worse than the disease. Why lie? Are you not firm in your convictions? Ignoring I understand. But answering then intentionally lying? Sounds petty to me. Good thing Twitter wasn't around in the 1930's. Imagine the avalanche of hate that would've spewed forth when FDR diminished the hunger, pestilence, and abject tragedy for millions of Americans who were suffering and would suffer through the Great Depression when he staged that "...only thing to fea...

Re: 'This is their new hoax'

Btw, Trump now saying he's getting out of Walter Reed around 6PM today, Monday. No doubt he'll start framing this whole event as evidence that Covid isn't that bad and that if he, an obese, old guy can get it and brush it off, then everyone should. The Trumpkins will never wear masks now.

Re: 'This is their new hoax'

But Trump rallies though... Yep, we should expect no more from our leaders (especially in a time of crisis) than the average protest marcher or spring break vacationer. No doubt, but from Trump to Biden to Pelosi to McConnell to Schumer to whomever, we have perhaps the worst collection of leaders a...

Re: Oddsmakers Have NO Clue!

Well, Kansas is terrible. Maybe they thought only winning by 2 TD's against that disaster of a team was a knock on Coastal? And Arkansas St had beaten a far better Kansas St team and had lost a close game to top 25 Memphis up to this point. I don't think the odds, if those were true, were crazy. Ark...

Re: 2020 General Election

There is literally no way to catch fraud after the fact, unless someone videos themselves committing the fraud. Heck, in PA, there wasn't even a way to do recounts until this election - you literally pressed a button, hoped your vote was counted correctly, and walked away. No confirmation of who yo...

Re: Why Do We Not Have Updated FCS Rankings?

Something like 80% of the FCS isn't playing and there's no championship this fall. There's a spring season that will happen with most of FCS playing, with a championship. There's no polls right now because there's no FCS right now. Wait till the spring.

The Central division, between the two leagues, got seven teams into the playoffs. None of them advanced past the first round. If no one ever looks for fraud, and if there's no way to detect fraud, how can we be sure there is no fraud? \ The Republicans have been looking for fraud for decades. So you describe problems and then say there are no problems. Check. :coffee: I did not say there were zero problems. If anything good could come out of this election (and don't worry, it won't happen, so nothing good will come out of this) it would be a renewed, bipartisan effort to standardize voting nationwide (I know states ultimately control voting so at least coming up with proposed standards) that the federa...

John Kerry. When he came out with his Vietnam video wearing a genade bandolier, that took the cake.
His whole schtick of "reporting for duty" at the Democratic convention that year was particularly lame.

I still go with Dole as my pick - he barely had a pulse at that point.
