Re: Political memes, Posters, Funny Pics, Etc.
This is the CDC's ILINet Graph. Look at how much lower it is than the baseline and other seasons. Site link: https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/index.htm https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/weeklyarchives2020-2021/images/ILI01_small.gif My post was for 2020, your post is for 2020-2021 flu season. Re: New online news channel starting.
Eh, there's always PBS and the BBC. Those are pretty much down the middle and not normally tinged with biased commentary. Heck, the CBC is pretty good too - you even get those hard hitting stories like when a cow wanders onto the road in Prince Edward Island. Fascinating stuff, and without bias.

Re: The Republican Base
One of Nixon's signature successes was China which in hindsight has not turned out so well. Standing up to China is a major positive for Trump's administration IMO. Like standing up to China, Trump's successes weren't just economic. As AZ has suggested, remove the Twitter-happy sociopathic narcissi...

Holy Historical Revisionism, Batman! Now Reagan is deemed responsible for the rise of the Taliban? What mental gymnastics and contortion did you go through to come to that conclusion? If you need a historical lesson, look up the "Great Game" and the empire meddling that the UK and Russia ...

Re: The Republican Base
Yes, Bernie should get credit for that. AOC's new green jobs are kind of like the trickle down effect of Trump's tax cuts. I'll believe it when I see it. And the answer is no - JSO would not give Trump credit for not getting the US involved in another conflict or for the unemployment rate...

Yeah, they should vet that name, that seems too easy. And I can't imagine that Trump would go with something that doesn't have his name in it.

False equivalency. I call out BDK on his Trumpism and looking the other way on White nationalism. You fawn over JSO and call him rational. Heck, you're probably pro-NAMBLA these days and think drunk driving laws are a form of insidious government overreach. Heck, you probably even believe that trop...

Re: The Republican Base
I'm just suggesting that we have always had largely just two major parties where power/control of government oscillates back and forth over time, and we will continue to have just two major parties that will continue to see power ebb and flow. The structure of our government reinforces this. We wil...

Re: The Republican Base
That's the one thing about all of this talk about the GOP party falling apart and the Dems moving towards the inevitable one party, decades-long nirvana that JSO keeps talking about. For all of the GOP's failings, which are many, it was a close Presidential election, they only just barely lost the ...

No more major holidays, start working through winter and then into the spring, continue to pick up the vaccination numbers, and yes, hopefully this is the final drive towards all of this ending.

Re: 2020 General Election
Cancelling inauguration rehearsal due to a homeless site catching on fire. How far removed from reality does one have to be? A good example of how news outlets spin a story to suit their needs. My local news reported that it was a homeless site, no big deal. The ABC national news, made no mention o...

Yeah, she's been at the forefront of PA's initially disastrous COVID response. Then they pretty much went hands off so as not to piss off the Trumpers in the rural parts of PA. But yes, she ticks a box off so that kinda supersedes anything like accomplishments. Plus Gov. Wolf is nearing the end of h...

Re: 2020 General Election
There’s zero chance Trump is going to be convicted in the Senate, or in a real court. -FBI said it was planned beforehand. -Trump began his speech after the storming of the Capitol began -He never said ‘Go storm/ransack/attack’ the Capitol building. Then why did so many insurrectionists say that’s ...

Re: What to do with Trump between now and when Biden takes over
Now you're being naive. How often do we see a news story that hits headlines, and then, when proven to be either inaccurate or just flat out wrong, the correction gets reported, but not anywhere near the same level of headlines as the initial, incomplete (or just wrong) story? How is that not on th...

Re: What to do with Trump between now and when Biden takes over
Lol. yeah, I’m only married to a reporter. in the “good old days” 25 years ago, you didn’t run with shit like the first story without checking, double checking and triple checking your facts, sources, etc. Now, it’s print on rumor, issue correction on fact (or not at all in many cases with MSM). I ...

Re: Migrant Caravan
Looks like we will have to deal with migrant caravans again for the next four years. Well, as always, we don't seem to have any appetite to once and for all come up with a reasoned and logical approach to immigration, so I'm sure we'll see plenty of upheaval and stories for years to come. It's too ...

I'm going off the board: Orel Hershiser. It's a crying shame that a pitcher of his caliber isn't in.... No longevity. I think he had something like 2 really awesome years (back to back) and otherwise wasn't terribly remarkable. Give him credit, his 1988 year was fantastic, but you normally don't ge...
