Re: VP debate 10/7 9 PM ECB.

Mrs 89 said she cannot vote for Biden because of that smarmy bitch Harris since she would end up POTUS pretty quickly. So you are incorrect. Not surprising. :coffee: This is THE reason Hillary lost. Women in power have it tough from a personality standpoint, even with other women. Well, that and th...

Re: Voter Suppresion - Georgia

No, an honest question. Voter suppression is assumed to be a solid fact, and those images of the long lines of voters in Georgia were beamed worldwide as absolute proof of that suppression. Being an engineer, I like to fix things, so my question was 1) was that voter suppression? 2) what caused tha...

Re: Voter Suppresion - Georgia

I mean, Pelosi just accused CNN of being GOP apologists She went nuts on Wolf yesterday or the day before. She is one ugly person. :ohno: If we could at least get rid of all the people in government who are 80 years and older that would be a good start. Maybe even 75 or older would work too. I'd go...

Re: The Voting Poll about Voting

The 13th was the last day to register to vote in Oregon and my ballot was mailed to my new address on the 14th! Oregon also publishes voting guides with information on all of the candidates that submit it which can help with the local races and district races. I've filled out the ballot and just ne...

Wrong Herr Mengele. Giant lines in majority donk run precincts on the 1st couple of days of 3 weeks of early voting doesn't equal voter suppression. Re: POTUS Debate #2 10/15, 9 PM ECB

Bottom line is that any debate should include capability to shut off one candidate while the other is talking. When the moderator asks one candidate a question that candidate should be allowed to answer without the other one interrupting. I think virtual would be great because it would facilitate t...

Re: Coronavirus COVID-19

Things going bad in Europe right now, first time since earlier in the year that the EU has more COVID positive cases than the US. France has a curfew from 9PM to 6AM in most places and have banned really any groups for at least the next 4 weeks. Northern Ireland is closing schools for 4 weeks. Even ...

No, no, no. Haven't you been paying attention? Her confirmation will be the end of the Republic!
oops. my mistake.
Nah, the Republic ended in 2016 - Obama said so. We're in the post-Republic period now. Might even have a catchier name than "post-Republic". Armageddon?

https://twitter.com/JackPosobiec/status/1316039168179482624 I listened a little to her hearing and read some of her answers... I know she pissed off the Dems by not pre-judging a case but I think she did well and he answers SHOULD be what the Dems want to hear. You don't want a judge to have an age...

Re: Trump Selects Amy Coney Barrett for SCOTUS

Leahy was rough. I physically cringed when they were having issues over Zoom and said they couldn't hear him. He's like one of those old dudes that you have to smile and nod for, and try not to finish their sentence for them even though you're dying inside to do so. He's been a Senator since winnin...

Re: The Voting Poll about Voting

How does Oregon verify it's you on the ballot? Do they compare signatures on the ballot with something on file? If it doesn't match does the person get notified? The NPR segment I heard on the Utah one has them ask for the voter to come in and verify a ballot if there's a discrepancy with the signa...

Obviously a big topic as you can't help but to see photos and videos of voters standing in line for hours, some lucky enough to have brought along chairs so they can stand in line. From where I come from (PA) this is all foreign to me. Longest voting line I've ever stood in was about ten people dee...

CID posted that immunity was iffy at best based on the type of virus months ago. The decision didn’t need to be made last week. They could have waited until today or even tomorrow (TV is plenty capable of that). Trump has now tested negative 2 days in a row, and his doc said on Sat he wasn’t a risk to spread it. He didn’t withdraw from the agreed upon, contracted, in person deb...

I like how they say there at least 5 people charged, but then go on to name 6 people. I guess technically correct, but why not just complete the math and say there were at least 6 people charged? Why say “at least” at all? I always love it when some news story says “at least 352 people are confirme...

Re: The Voting Poll about Voting

I'm an in person on election day kind of guy. I don't have any problem with wider periods of voting or mail in voting (assuming it can be secure - in other thread, I liked how the Utah system was described). The more accessible to make voting the better in my opinion, again, so long as it's secured....
