Big Sky Predictions 11-15

Two weeks left and only two weeks for a shot at perfection. I was one off last week, missing on the UC Davis/Idaho game, which puts me at 65-18 for the year. This week is the last week until the traditional rivalry weekend when you can throw out the results and pick blind in most games. Here are my ...

Happy Veteran's day to all the veterans out there. With the arrival of Veteran's day, the season is coming to a close. Some great games coming up in the last week, but the teams all have one more week to get through and some have some tough games before the rivalry week. Some teams are playing spoil...

Big Sky Predictions 11-8

Three weeks to go in this crazy conference season. Another weekend to try to sort this race out. A full slate of conference games again this weekend and a few good ones on tap. Some teams trying to prove that last week was just an aberration and some trying to continue what they did. I split last we...

Big Sky Power Rankings 11-4

November got off to an interesting start as all the games last weekend was won by the road team. Even Portland State, playing at Cal Poly got their first win of the season. Now, another full slate of games are on the docket as we get closer to the end. Teams are jockeying for position with only thre...

Re: Week 10: Conference by Conference Breakdown

While I appreciate the recognition of Portland State's win, I would have said that the most surprising result in the Big Sky was the conference had a full slate of games (six) and the road team won each game. Home field does usually mean something, especially in conference games.

Halloween weekend. Time for the contenders to rise to the top and the pretenders to change back into pumpkins. Everyone plays this weekend on a full docket of games in the conference. After splitting the games last week, I am now 57-14 for the year. I need a perfect week to make the record look dece...

Moving on through the stretch, leading on to the conference title, the race seems to have thickened a bit. Montana State is still clearly the team to beat but Montana and UC Davis are emerging as legitimate contenders to the Bobcats path to the title. A three team race as we enter the month of Novem...

After going 3-1, holding against hope that somehow Portland State would win a game, I am now at 54-11 for the year. A full slate of games are on for this weekend in the conference , beginning with a Friday night showdown with Montana and Sacramento State. All teams play and are in action. Here are m...

Now the stretch run truly begins as the conference has a full slate of games every week until the end. Half the conference took a break from conference action and all are set to battle to the end. The top team and the bottom team seems to be set, while the middle is still an unsettled pile of goo. H...

Re: Big Sky Predictions 10-18

Sacred Heart vs UM: UM should be an easy one for the Griz, can they get over their slow starts? WSU vs PSU: WSU both are not very good this year, but think Weber is better and good enough to beat PSU on the road. Idaho vs EWU: EWU Going with the home team UNC vs SAC: SAC Good wins for both programs...

Only four games on tap in the conference this weekend with one being a non-conference matchup. A lot of teams taking the week off from playing. After going 3-2 last weekend, I am now 51-10 for the year and looking for perfection since conference play started. This may be the best chance I have befor...

I hate it when personal issues start to creep in when your trying to have some fun. Going to keep this short and simple, helped by the fact that almost half of the teams are off this week with one (Montana) playing a non-conference game. Interesting outcomes last week led to some dramatic shakeups. ...

After splitting the four games last week, I am now at 48-8 for the year. Still respectable but not quite as good as before conference play started. Hard to believe we are halfway through the college football season and the teams have now entered the stretch run. September is gone and the calendar has been turned to October. This is when the fun of non-conference games are past and the work begins. What an opening conference week that was. Shocking outcomes and great performances dotted the Big Sky landscape. When the dust settled, who had Montana State with the same record as Cal Poly (1-0 conference, 3-2 overall). This is setting up to be quite the race for the conference title and the auto-...

Finally the teams got through the preseason and the regular conference season is set to begin. These are the games that count and will decide who gets the autobid into the playoffs. No one cares who you beat in the non-conference. They are set to take your spot away. Coming into the first weekend, h...

Re: Week 4: Conference by Conference Breakdown

The most surprising result in the Big Sky should have been Portland State and bye, which played to a 0-0 tie in front of no fans at PSU Stott Community Field. Bye, made up of primarily high schoolers, kept the Vikings offense from generating any type of sustained drives. That alone was surprising (a...

A little chill in the air in most regions of the Big Sky means that fall is coming. One more full week of non-conference play, then the true schedule begins and the title chase is setting up to be quite a good one. Portland State is sitting this week out and from the looks of things, that may be goo...

After a perfect week last week I am at 23-2 for the year so far. It is early and we are still making our way through the non-conference games, but I am off to a good start.
