Re: Big Sky Expansion
Its a little early to say about Sac State's coach. He's only been there a year if I'm not mistaken. They've been steadiy improving. Didn't Sac State come in about the time PSU did, or a little earlier? Big Sky wanted to reach out to the Northwest coast, where Sac State arguably sits on the edge. Sa...

Re: Which one of you jokers is responsible for this?
As far as Portland State rivalries within the conference I can think of two... Portland State/Montana---Comically referred to as the "Don Read Bowl" as Read did wonders putting both schools on the football landscape. When PSU joined the Big Sky, Montana was already top dog, yet the Vikings...

Re: Big Sky Expansion
We've went over the splitting of the conference if there was to be a break up of the GWFC and I would like to see Cal Poly in it but I don't think I've seen any plans on it. The Big Sky is a fairly close knit group and the conference is probably set where it is right now for quite a while. Don't ap...

Re: TSN Big Sky Preview
Where I am so far (usually I bring the final rankings at the end of August, in other words I am still working on it) 1. Montana-on top but not that far 2. Weber State-maybe even with the Griz but this year's game is in Missoula, not Ogden 3. Montana State-less questions than the other teams 4. Easte...

Re: Sporting News 2009 Preview: FCS edition
For as improved as the Big Sky is this year compounded with the retirement of Mouse Davis at Portland State, I cannot see the Vikings being any higher than eighth in the Big Sky. I am hoping to be "pleasantly" surprised but right now I cannot place the Vikings higher than eighth.

Re: Whats to become of Cal Poly SUU and UC-Davis?
Well having talked to the Great West Commisionar twice on the phone in the recent past he assured me that there were "several canidates" that he was considering bring up into the great west for football from d2. He is just waiting for the moving up ban to be lifted and he could not disclo...

Re: FCS Now on the Big Sky (Unpredictability under the Big Sky?)
2009 Final Big Sky Standings 1.WSU* 1.UM* 3.MSU 4.EWU 6.SUU* 6.PSU 6.NAU 6.Sac 9.UNC 10.ISU *Who ever wins on Halloween gets the autobid How ever many scenarios I try, I cannot get Weber to win in Missoula this year. That said, I like your top three. I don't think you're giving Sac State much credi...

Re: FCS Now on the Big Sky (Unpredictability under the Big Sky?)
From what Ursus has been touting Sac. St. will be good this year. I have been doing a little reading up on them and I like where they are going, and that is out of the basement and could very well be a #3 this year in the BSC. Still early, but I think I've got Sac State at #4 behind the Bobcats. I ...

Re: Oregon QB to Montana?
Word when Roper left Oregon was that he wanted to play closer to home (he's from Georgia). I don't see Missoula being much closer to Georgia than Eugene. Maybe there's more going on behind the scenes at Oregon than people are led to believe. I had originally heard he was going to end up in the SoCon...

Re: Oregon QB transfers, FCS likely destination
Also, rumors swirling in Portland that one of the Ducks more reliable receivers in the past couple years, Robin Pflugrad may be coming to Portland State. Pflugrad left the Ducks after the spring game this month. Pflugrad's dad played for Mouse Davis at PSU in the 70's and Davis is now the Vikings OC.

Re: Should SUU join the Big Sky?
OK, my first post here on this wonderful site. So great having two sites to talk about FCS football. I'll get as spoiled as my Ducks and Beavers friends who all have 8 or 9 sites to talk Pac-10 fooball. Obviously, if SUU was to go to the Big Sky it would have to be all sports. The last school that w...
