Re: UND Nickname Change
taken from a bville quote: 89% of the spirit lake tribe members eligible to vote didn't vote either way. 68% of the 11% who cared enough to vote were supportive of the nickname. So, in reality, 7% of the tribes members approved the nickname, no? Let me see if I have this right. About 90% of the tri...

Re: Appalachian State Eager For Another SoCon Football Title
fify The War was one of coercion of SOVEREIGN States exercising their right to leave a VOLUNTARY union which THEY created and delegated some powers to in the same manner in which they entered it. Everything else was secondary. Genl's Johnson and Kirby Smith were still in the field when Mr. Booth se...

Re: Post-Game Thread: App State Turf Replacment/Crown Remova
Saw the field in person last week. The endzones look much better than on the web cam, but those awful yeller rectangles on the sidelines dominate the entire field. I'm betting Coach Moore wishes he had that decision back. The black border gives the field a classy look and had it been continued aroun...

Re: Game Thread: App State Turf Replacment/Crown Removal
If this is the newest FieldTurf (Duraspine Pro) Yes, they do cut out the area for the logos and conference tags, as well as the lettering in the EZ. The logos, etc. are one piece and are sewn into the cut-out. We had this installed last year; as did Sac State and the NE Patriots. No player on our t...

Re: Game Thread: App State Turf Replacment/Crown Removal
I'm not really sure who put the sand in your vajajay, but that's none of my business. I'm not getting in a pissing match over turf installation. I appreciate your attempts to shed light on this highly complex topic, although it could have been accomplished without all the inherent sarcasm. As for m...

The NCAA is getting to be about as meddlesome as the clowns in DC. Let the state and the Sioux work it out.

Re: Game Thread: App State Turf Replacment/Crown Removal
Everything was looking good until they rolled out the sidelines. Sure hope the turf company made a big mistake because I can't imagine anyone in their right mind would approve the use of that hideous yeller. Especially with the nice looking gold used for the goal lines. This is the type of idiocy I'...

I can't believe with the type of success Delaware Football has had with players in the NFL, appearances in National Championship games, frequent contender for conference championships is actually losing attendance and donor money. If you aren't moving forward you're going backward and it ap...

Re: UMASS goes to the MAC...
Not really sure, but in the long run, it does give UMass a stronger position for a BCS conference to notice them. But then again, I'm one who thinks that the BCS is not long for this world. Yep and that is the strongest reason to move "up" to the MAC or SunBelt for any school. No one (app...

Re: Positive news for the Catamounts
Former ASU Chancellor Frank Borkowski, also a music major, made numerous comments about how important athletics are to a university and even took credit for starting USF's football program. He then proceeded to do everything but support the program and set it back 10 years. A lot of new chancellors ...

Re: Appalachian State to CUSA?
The very nature of the home / visitor's side verbiage exudes a high school image of the program. Whenever the new deck was built on the east side we decided to move over there. Someone asked why I would move to the "visitor's side". Told them I didn't realize those seats were being built ...

Re: Appalachian State to CUSA?
Not understanding the importance of it IS the problem. What? The importance of referencing a stadium side for person's not familiar with our stadium by home or visitor....a stadium, mind you, that is currently not enclosed and does, in fact, have two distinct sides? Yep, that's a problem. Tell you ...

Re: Appalachian State to CUSA?
There is no “dilemma”, just people who refuse to lose the high school mentality that has plagued our school for decades. There are also no “feelings of inferiority” or “attempt validate App's existence within college football,” just a desire to see ASU’s program follow a natural progression and com...

Re: ASU continues study of possible move to FBS
If you move to FBS you can sink the field a little and replace the track with seats. No big deal. No one watches track anyway. Go put it out the forest somwhere. There's quite a bit of undeveloped land and forest around the stadium and campus... but, flat land... not so much. http://farm5.static.fl...

Meaningless to who? The players, fans, and schools involved in the game? I doubt it. It is all perspective. One could argue the FCS playoffs are meaningless considering only the final two rounds are played on national tv and always take a back seat to these "meaningless" bowl games in ter...

Re: Appalachian State to CUSA?
Way to tell the whole story. Our first bowl game was played over 600 miles away, in Detroit, Michigan, the day after Christmas. I was at my parents house in Atlanta on Christmas break. On Christmas day, I left my aunt and uncle's house early(around 7pm EST) got into Murfreesboro around 9pm central,...
