Raining, not looking good for today. Trump just landed there, he will insist they launch.
Nah, he may have asked for it to be postponed. Now he can just hang out in Florida at his place until Saturday. Win win for him.

Yup, charge the 4 officers with murder and it should be an easy conviction. The suspect wasn't going anywhere, already had him cuffed and on the ground. Heck, a taser could've been used too. No reason to slowly asphyxiate the guy with a crushing knee to the neck. While all police departments can be...

Re: 2020 Libertarian Party Nomination Process Megathread

My vote is up for grabs. Jill Stein is too old for me in my determination to vote for someone under the age of 70. Plus I hear she's a Russian bot. They're everywhere. I might vote for this Clemsux lady person. I wrote in Mayor Pete on my ballot for the upcoming PA primary. They only had Bide...

Re: 2020 Libertarian Party Nomination Process Megathread

How sad is it that we are about to have the worst, or second worst to 2016, election choice in modern times, and no third party will put a pimple on the ass of this election? Sounds like a great opportunity for people that claim to want a third option to put up or shut up. :coffee: My vote is up fo...

Re: App State cutting men's soccer, men's tennis, men's indoor T&F

Said it in another thread, most of these sports go unnoticed at their own schools anyway, so is it really that big of a deal to not have these sports? Even an App poster on this thread was unaware of his own school having one of these sports. I feel for the kids currently in these sports at these sc...

Re: Joe Biden gaffe and verbal bungles watch

A couple weeks ago I thought there was no way Biden would pick her But his polling with blacks is below Hillary’s... he needs to motivate that constituency and he isn’t doing it. Then along comes his “you ain’t black” comment If he can’t generate black turnout he is going to lose. Last week’s gaffe...

Iowa is going to allow HS babeball and softball to resume. Practice can start June 1 and games June 15.
Very cool. Do you actually mean high schools or just high school age? Aren't most high schools graduated/done by that time of year?

But I would argue that at least for football and/or basketball, at least some people actually do show up to watch those games other than parents and friends of the people playing the games. Generally speaking (and I know there are niches for everything - wrestling in the Midwest, baseball in the so...

Re: Dem VP Candidates

I don't think the VP choice is going to swing the election one way or the other. Trump appears to be hemorrhaging voters in the 65+ demographic. It was one of his best in 2016. If that holds... Trump ain't getting reelected. In any other election, sure. But the Dems went with a candidate that's a b...

Re: Dem VP Candidates

The Dems need to flip 36 electoral votes to win in November, so where do they get them from? Dems first of all need to hold onto Nevada (6 votes), New Hampshire (4 votes), and Minnesota (10 votes). Those were close or razor thin in 2016. Say for sake of argument that they're all still safely blue. T...

It's a nice substitute for no decent live sports on TV. You also get a trip down memory lane to when the NBA refs let them play a little. The let Detroit play a lot. My kids got a kick out of that - they're just used to seeing the NBA like it is now with the intent to foul being almost enough...

It's what they do. Heck, they were compromising their values back in the 90's when NOW was fully behind Bill Clinton despite his long list of sexually harassing and assaulting women and Hillary was aiding him by calling those women trailer trash (wasn't even just the 90's - the friend of mine who's...

I know. I was referring to the economic aspect of it. Football and men's basketball are the only profitable sports. The rest leech from those two sports. There are only a handful of schools that make money on Football outside the P5. Probably a larger list for basketball, but I doubt Furman basketb...

2020-21 College B-Ball Season

With all the focus on football and the fall, something being overlooked is the COVID impact on the next college basketball season.
