Re: NEC 2010 non-conference schedules
Quick comment re: "Sacred Heart – 2 games (likely at Marist)" Not likely. Marist's dance card is full. Marist plays a full 8 game PFL schedule plus 3 OOC games. Those OOC games appear to be Lafayette, Bucknell, and Georgetown. So much for appearances! It would also appear that Marist's ge...

Re: MIT joins the Patriot League as Associate Member
We added it about 5-6 years ago.
While this does not immediately impact football, what it says is that Associate Members are again welcome in the conference. Clearly, then, a new football member need not be an all-sports participant.

I knew it, I knew it. This is all a plot to merge the Ivy and the Patriot into the NESCAC. Oh, joy.

Re: Patriot League Scholarships--Your Time has Come!
One can only hope it has come. I can't help thinking that the PL will do nothing, Marist will come aboard as an all-sports member (for all Marist's insistence about being a "basketball" school, its Men's BB team has one (1) win this year) and that will be the end of the story.

I don't believe "decimation" of the FCS by wholesale program departures is likely in light of the economy.

Re: What is the future of Patriot League football?
Marist would be a great pickup for the PL. I still don't understand why the PL didn't try and grab them as a football affiliate after the MAAC folded. Even if they didn't fully commit to the grant-in-aid model at the beginning, they probably wouldn't do any worse than Georegtown. I think it may hav...

This was a continuing debate on the AGS board, so it makes sense to pick it up here. I don't know how many other PL posters have migrated here, however.

Re: El Citadel going to the Triple Option
We can scratch one military from that list. Sparky Woods has canned the triple at VMI in favor of an as yet undefined "more balanced attack". Oh, great. They will end up like Army did when Rick Greenspan canned Bob Sutton and the 'bone in the late 1990's. West Point football has still not...
