Re: Liberty Announces FBS Games

Not sure why you'd say that about the Kent State game. Their last two MAC games were a 1-point loss at Toledo and a win at Ball State.

Very little since VMI abandoned it a couple of years back. Most of the Big South teams either operate out of spread or pro-style offenses.

Re: Final 2011 TSN Poll

Albany should have been at No. 25 ahead of Liberty.

Re: The road to the Big South Autobid

That's what I was getting at, ocean. SBU racked up more than 500 yards, so the turnovers weren't the only factor, or even the biggest one. But as you said, you don't get to 76 without the other team giving you lots of help. You can't ignore that factor. Should be a great game between two explosive o...

Re: The road to the Big South Autobid

Six turnovers for Gardner-Webb. Not like Stony Brook wasn't dominant, but that certainly helped.

And for once, there will be no shared championship in this league. Playoffs begin next week. Should be a lot of fun.

Re: The road to the Big South Autobid

Neither Stony Brook nor Liberty can get to seven Division I wins without winning on Nov. 19. So the answer in short is no.

Re: The road to the Big South Autobid

Coulter was pretty good last year when he was healthy. It was clear he was never anywhere near healthy this year. Essington seems to be a little more mobile, no?

Re: The road to the Big South Autobid

If SBU wins as expected this week, I'd expect Priore to start preparing for the Liberty game, because the GWU game will be totally meaningless. Not saying the players won't try in that one, but there's no value to playing anything but base, vanilla offense and defense. No need to show the Flames any...

Re: Longest home conference winning streak

Seawolf: SBU lost to Gardner-Webb in '08 ... which still stands as Stony Brook's only league home loss. G-Webb also handed Liberty its last home league defeat back in '06.

Re: The road to the Big South Autobid

What yesterday's game did was more or less make the Liberty-Stony Brook on Nov. 19 game the de facto championship game. Sorry to the GWU/PC/VMI/CSU fans, but those teams are no threat. Because of the way the tiebreaker is set up, Stony Brook can afford to lose at home to Coastal, and as long as the ...

Re: The road to the Big South Autobid

dback...If there's another three-way tie, it goes to some sort of convoluted tie-break where the first criteria is road wins in conference. In that regard, Coastal has by far the toughest road schedule: SBU, Liberty, CSU Stony Brook has GWU, CSU and VMI Liberty has SBU, CSU and GWU It should be note...

A 7-4 UCA would be 6-4 because of the Bears' win over Elizabeth City State.

Re: BIG SOUTH week 8

Agreed! CSU straight up fell apart in the 4th, the entire 4th, not just certain plays in the 4th. CSU got tired out and that's when Liberty ran over them. Exactly. CSU fell apart in the 4th. Had we not fallen apart in the 4th of the Liberty game and the Wofford game, we would have been in position ...

Stony by 10 Chuck by 20 G Dub by 14 Go BUCS!!! This is a HUGE game for CSU. We are in must-win mode the rest of the way. We have one out of conference game left, against Kentucky. That has to be our only loss. We need to finish. We need to put people away. We have three losses this year that should...

Re: Chris Lang's Playoff Projections

danefan: Just caught your post about the NCAA criteria from the handbook. In the past, so much has been done on bids alone that I sort of went away from the geographical philosophy in the projection. I'll amend next week's projection to include the handbook criteria. Also, it's funny how much one ga...

Re: Chris Lang TSN Ballot

Hi everyone, I mentioned on my blog yesterday that I goofed on Elon and had them way too high. No excuses, but my travel situation this weekend wasn't the best, as I drove from Lynchburg to Muncie for the Ball State game, so I kind of rushed it a bit Sunday morning before getting on the road. I prob...
