Re: Stony Brook loses All American
This is a rule every school knows. This isn't an obscure rule. You have 5 years from the second you step on campus...every school knows that. I'd the d2 and d3 schools that recruited me knew it,sb did too Sent from my SCH-R530U using Tapatalk 2 And you are a full time student. This. I think the deb...

Re: Big South LBs 2012
Stony Brook's Andre Trujillo has been moved from lb to de and Dan Mulrooney has been moved from safety to lb. On paper this is definitely the strength of Stony Brook's defense.

Re: Big South OL 2012
Stony Brook has four returning starters from last years offensive line: LT Scott Hernandez JR OL 6-6 315 C Mike Lisi SO OL 6-2 280 RG Cody Precht SO OL 6-3 285 RT Michael Bamiro JR OL 6-8 350 Last year I thought they were great run blocking, but shaky at times in pass protection. We did graduate a f...

Matt Brevi graduated. I think it's worth mentioning SBU's maryland transfer Adrian Coxson. He was an ESPNU150 recruit coming out of high school.

Re: Big South RBs 2012
With all 5 of SB's OL graduating, what impact do you see that having on the RB's yardages? All 5 of GW's OL are returning starters - which might entitle GW to a step up here. Go Runnin' Bulldogs! Stony Brook returns 4 of 5 on their OL and all their tight ends and full backs. I don't think the SBU ru...

Re: Big South Conference 2012 Recruits
Yeah, We gotta beat someone this year. But unfortunately it seems like its going to be a similar schedule to last year. We have a DII matchup against Pace, FBS Syracuse and Army, and Central Connecticut & Colgate (NEC teams). None against the CAA, SoCon, etc That's fine, beat CCSU and Colgate (...

Re: Big South Conference 2012 Recruits
Stony Brook brought in RB Marcus Coker, Iowa, and WR Adrian Coxson, Maryland. Coker was second in the Big Ten in rushing this past fall and Coxson is a former 4 star ESPNU 150 recruit.

Re: Liberty?
I think Liberty fans expectations were too high coming into the season. You guys returned a couple star players, but there were also some big losses to graduation you guys seemed to ignore. I thought going into the season that it would be a rebuilding year for LU. 2012 you guys return a lot of good ...

Re: Big South Championship Prediction thread
The teams SB has put 40+ on the board against are a combined 14-36 What is this supposed to mean? The combined record of every team Liberty's beaten is 16-44. I'm not saying the game won't be close, or that Liberty isn't a good team. I don't understand why you guys are acting like Stony Brook's had...

Re: Big South Championship Prediction thread
The juggernaut of a defense that is Presbyterian held Liberty to 13 points in regulation time. Keep thinking that way. I think you should take a few cues from your coach: "The three losses they have, I’m not so sure they shouldn’t have won every one of those games when you look at the ta...

Re: Big South Championship Prediction thread
I'd like to know how SBU's juggernaut of a defense is going to hold us to 17 or 20 or 21? The lowest we've scored all year was 21 against NC State. And SBU has given up 31 and 28 their last 2 times out to VMI and Gardner Webb. The juggernaut of a defense that is Presbyterian held Liberty to 13 poin...

Re: The road to the Big South Autobid
Six turnovers for Gardner-Webb . Not like Stony Brook wasn't dominant, but that certainly helped. And for once, there will be no shared championship in this league. Playoffs begin next week. Should be a lot of fun. Lol...seriously... Is that what you point out of the game? what a joke. Stony Brook'...

Re: Big South Championship Game 11/19
This is what the whole season was about and now it comes right down to it. LU has time to rest and plan. SBU will likely start working on the LU game and not spend a lot of time on LU. It's tough that SBU has 2 long road trips right before this game but that's good for LU. I think this will be a gr...

Re: The road to the Big South Autobid
Yeah but in 2009 SBU ran for 248 yards and 4 td's against Liberty. I haven't seen anyone shut down Stony Brook's running game all season which was not the case last year. Stony Brook has even ran the ball effectively when they have abandoned the pass all together (Lafayette where Coulter was playin...

Re: The road to the Big South Autobid
Liberty has shown that they can stop Stony Brook's running game (49 yards total in last year's meeting) so if LU can repeat a performance like that The Flames will likely be celebrating on Long Island that night Yeah but in 2009 SBU ran for 248 yards and 4 td's against Liberty. Re: The road to the Big South Autobid
Is the consensus, then, that Liberty's homecoming game is the de facto Big South Championship Game? Or is there someone else out there who seems likely to spoil things? Like maybe Stony Brook? I think the de facto Big South championship game is when the winner of Liberty-Coastal comes to Long Islan...

Re: Big South fans: your school's dark horse players for 201
For Stony Brook my offensive dark horsres are RT Bamiro and WR Norrell. Bamiro only played one season of high school football before walking on at Stony Brook. He then started in everygame as a redshirt freshman. He is an NFL sized tackle with great genes (one of his brothers is SBU's all time sack ...

Stony Brook brought in two JUCO's for the spring (one of which was a second team All-American) and recently added an OG from Pitt. We return our two starting tackles as well as Mario Datilo who had three starts last season. O-line is definitely the biggest question mark for Stony Brook heading into ...

I don't know how the first couple days of training camp have gone, but Stony Brook has added DE from Rutgers. Stony Brook has now added two BCS transfers to a DL that returned all their starters. It will be interesting to see how it works out.

He's definitely going to to be interesting watch. Not to hijack this thread but the Stony Brook transfer I'm most excited to see is Kevin Norrell. Yeah even Stony Brook picked up a four star transfer from Maryland. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncstate/footbal ... ongo-58201" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I think Jack State has to have the most impressive transfer this year.

Re: Big South Predictions Part Deux
Jackolski and Maysonet absolutely deserve to be on the all conference team (as does Gowins but that is another story). I'm surprised he placed Kabongo (Maryland) and Mulrooney (BC) on the all conference team considering neither has played a game in the Big South yet. Both could be very good but are ...
