It won't be Kristi Noem. There's dirt on her, like using the state owned airplane for personal trips. People in SD don't care but it won't play well on national news.   Is THAT really enough these days? Honestly.... Have you seen the media and how they treat Republicans? They'll ...

Re: 2024 Primary

I hope she is. But I also don’t believe it’ll happen. Her flip flopping on support for Trump shows that her character and integrity is similar to other politicians and former NYC property developers. I would like to see someone who appears to have more character and spine. Someone like Sasse but th...

Re: The Future of EWU Football?

Similar to what is going on across the country. Case in point, Oregon State recently announced an anonymous donation of $50 million dollars to renovate the west side of Reser Stadium, but a bunch of professors are protesting the donation, saying that football does not contribute to the mission of t...

Re: Professional Athletes - Activism & Racism

I generally ignore celebrities when they spout political opinions. The criticism of the Lebron and the NBA to call out China is spot on. Although maybe they understand the different norms better than I do.

Dear Republicans, The next couple of elections will be decided by independents. Here’s your best candidate in 2024 if he’s interested. Next post is an example of how I think too many primaries will go. That’s not to say Sasse isn't bothered by Nebraskans spending their Saturday targeting Sasse’s vo...

Re: Don’t Sass Me!

U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler was already facing a backlash from fellow Republicans after breaking with most of her party and voting to impeach former President Donald Trump. Then she ignited national news — and briefly scrambled the end of the Senate impeachment trial — with an explosive account...

Re: Thank you coal!

This would have been very bad. Would have likely resulted in a complete blackout in ERCOT. Would have taken days or even weeks to get power back everywhere. And to be clear this isn't a failure of nuclear power - it was too much load and not enough generation to cover it. The plant's safety feature...

Re: Thank you coal!

What a crazy week it was. We operate in the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) energy market. SPP covers 14 states from North Dakota to the Texas panhandle. On a typical day prices for energy would be maybe 2-2.5 cents per kWh. On a hot day or cold day that might jump up to an average of 5-6 cents per kWh....

Re: Thank you coal!

Starting to see some reports that Texas grid operator ERCOT asked the Biden admin for waivers from some environmental rules to increase generation during the power crisis and they were denied. Remains to be seen if this is true but is a bad look for Biden's EPA if it is.

My response is good, keep having them unable to compete with renewable energies until fossil fuels are a thing of the past. Subsidize them more until renewables overwhelm the fossil fuel industry and end it once and for all. That's what many are voting for so that's what we expect from our governme...

Re: Thank you coal!

What's the power grid going to be like when we have 100,000,000 electric cars plugged in at night. This is the hidden tax that is coming. The electric distribution system infrastructure in place cannot handle one or two electric vehicles charging at every house. Rates will have to go up pay for the...
