Re: How many CAA teams will survive next week?
I went with two, though anything from 0 to 3 is realistic. I think Towson wins at home and one of the road teams pulls an upset.

Re: JMU @ W&M
Offense has been bad and the majority of the blame goes to QB play. We are very good at OL, TE, and RB and the running game has been pretty good considering our usually balanced offense has not kept defenses honest with a legit pass attack. Fairly young and inexperienced receiver corp without our to...

Re: JMU AD: Move to FBS "very likely" in 18-24 months
Is playing for a meaningless championship really more competitive than playing for a meaningless bowl game. Yeah, you can call yourself "national champions" but, everyone knows Auburn, not Eastern Washington were the national champions last year. If you just want to win championships - mo...

Re: Colonial Athletic Association Picks for Week #1
WM beat UVA in the 80's as well and somehow got on the schedule in 95, 09 and this year. Whatever the reason, I doubt its becasue you beat them 20 some years ago. I read on the JMU board that JMU has turned down offers to play UVA becasue the guarantee wasn't high enough relative to what JMU could g...

CAA will pick up at least one FBS win, best shot is probably Navy.

Re: Delaware-Navy 2011 thread
Should be a decent contest. UD's biggest issue is how well the QB (Sasek) will play. He didn't separate himself very well from our backup who I've never been that impressed with. Otherwise, UD is stacked everywhere else on offense & our defensive front seven should be very good as well. The DB ...

Re: DI Board approves increased academic performance concept
They shouldn't be. But, to compete in extracurricular activities... especially ones as demanding as D-I football... you should have your school work in order. I can KIND of go for that priniple in high school (though not really...that's a whole nuther topic). But not for college. In any case it's k...

Re: DI Board approves increased academic performance concept
It is my understanding that the APR does not take a hit when players leave the program (Pro career or transfer) as long as they are in good standing. This was a problem in the past hat has been corrected. Unless the NCAA web page is not up to date, this doesn't appear to be true, as of June 10, 201...

Re: DI Board approves increased academic performance concept
This is ridiculous. It was already out of hand and over the top. "The academic success of all student athletes" is not a realistic goal and if that's the goal it means unrealistic standards are going to be imposed. I don't see why these people think student athletes should be any more suc...

Re: ODU over/under
I assume you mean total wins and not CAA wins. I see ODU going 3-0 in conference and winning 2-3 conference games for 5 or 6 wins total. I expect they'll be competitive in all their CAA games.

Re: RTD: ODU Football starting to dominate Tidewater area?
Wilder has been successful at building excitment for the program and putting a winning product on the field. If this year's APR is any indication, he may be fall short on another priority, retaining and graduating players. The 757 is ripe with football talent and ODU has and will continue to rake i...

Re: Charlotte declines full CAA membership, wants football-o
Charlotte has name recognition with the CUSA membership so being Indy or BSC wouldn't stop the Sun Belt from wanting them. CUSA could take them back if there was an opening and Charlotte fb was up and running. Temple and UMass aren't will ing to give up their A10 membership for MAC membership and t...

I wouldn't even know where to begin to add anything to this clusterf**k of a thread jacking. Good job gentlemen, good job. :thumb: I'm with ya, buddy. I tried to get it back on topic to no avail. I'll check back in time and see if the thread is back to being Charlotte-centric again. My thoughts are...
